Need to get this off my chest.

We need a "swear thread" to get some incredibly stupid actions out of our systems.

May I start.....

01: never analyse in one time-frame and trade in another.
for example; yesterday, I correctly entered a BUY using a 1-2-3 pattern around 1.8730 using 30-min bars. I then got bored, over-analysed, thought I saw a weakness on the 15-min bars, and reversed. Hey presto, the trade went upto 1.8760. I lost by being impatient, when I would have won by leaving things alone.

02: be careful which buttons you hit.
for example; yesterday, I was short the Dow, from 10,465. I also entered another short at 10,515.
I went and closed out the above FX trade in "01" above.
Imagine my surprise when I didnt make any money on the Dow shorts.
It turned out that I had actually closed out the Dow trades at 10,490, rather than the FX ones.

Two chuffing winners slipped out of my grasp through lack of patience.

Have discipline. (sort of)
Havent got patience.
Bugger.

context: missed out on 30-pips on FX, and over 100-pts on 1 short.

now you see we are going to have a problem here as sharky ********-o-meter is set quite strictly on here..

tis a good idea.

being able to let off steam, and also get those faults corrected by seeking solutions from others.

i suffer from similar problems - i generally trade EOD, but get bored when i have a bit more screen time. i try to trade off 5 min charts etc. doesnt suit my personality at all, and i end up seeing so many winners turn to losers. now that is poor discipline.

trading for the sake of trading.

bad.

tres bad.

dont do it again.

****e.

good thread :)

Now, now my children, I know you're calm and phlegmatic souls.

When Bob the Builder was in Court charged with gross foul and abusive language in a public place he described the events that had taken place. "I was holding the ladder while Fred was up doing a repair to the lead flashing when he dripped some molten lead down on my neck. All I said was " Fred, you really ought to be more careful." "

So just post "I really must be more careful" and we'll all know what you mean *** :devilish: 88XX :devilish: :devilish: :devilish: **$* :devilish:

Good (and careful) trading

the criteria read: shall I go, shall I go, shall I go, knew I should have gone, bit gone, bit gone, wrong, wrong, knew I should have stayed, knew I should have stayed, really should have stayed, shall I go, shall I go, 3/4gone, shall I go - knew I should have stayed.

its those voices in your head that are doing this to you..

i dont know.... Rosso in one ear, Frugi in the other.

its amazing you havent exploded by now..

No, I'm booked solid all year at a variety of trading events, mostly those ones with a "Dont trade like this" element to them

Sometimes - but I sure wouldn't choose "our bob" as my avatar/effigy - thats comedy value in itself

least when you lose its yourself to blame ive been following strategies found in E Books and none of them ever work for me. What they say its so frustrating when you spend so much time and money on these bloody things you just think bugger it. Ive just tried to fade the dow for about 20 days with a 75% loss rate instead of 75% win rate back to drawing board. I need a BEER

CHUFFIN ECK!!!!

took a short at 1.8082 on GBPUSD ( P-1 bounce ). made 7 pips.

then took another short at second bounce off P-1 at 1.8085.
Stop Loss = 1.8020.

I only got twitchy and exited for a 20pip loss.
Then, lo and behold, the market drops. ( now at 1.8071 )

I FAILED to stick to my Stop Loss ( logically derived )
I FAILED to trade the plan ( exited on boredom )

RESULT: a loss of 20, when I should be 15 up.

AAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

ACM FX platform, as advertised on T2W. ( not having a dig at T2W )

http://www.ac-markets.com/en/forex-broker/trading-with-acm.asp

"No negative balances - limited risk. With ACM your risk is only limited to funds or deposit. Our unique, automatic margin liquidation policy eliminates concerns about debit balances by guaranteeing that you will never owe more than you have in your account."

The above lovely-heart-warming-cuddly statement on their website is contradicted on the T&Cs.

WHY DO THEY DO THINGS LIKE THIS!!
WE KNOW ITS HIGH RISK.
WE KNOW WE CAN LOSE IT ALL - AND THEN SOME.
JUST SUCKING IN THE UNWARY.
