Simultaneous Trades

I was just wondering what other members feelings were about how many trades they would generally have in progress at the same time.

1,2,3 or more ?

What are people comfortable with ? Some people might answer zero I guess !!

It depends on time-scale for me. On my day-trades I will have open a maximum of 2. I get into a mess with any more
If I'm trading longer term though I'm happy to hold about 5.

Yes sorry. I meant day trading really. I tend to agree - an absolute maximum of 3 is enough for me, otherwise I get into a flap and end up clicking on the wrong buttons.

I only ever have one open at anytime, just can't cope with all them flashing buttons.

Personally I have only ever had 1 open at a time. The reason for this is that I am unable to concentrate on 2 level II screens effectively at once. I may try more one day but not yet.

If it helps i'm happy to have several positions open at once.

Day trades I can have up to 7/8 in nas stocks but this is the most ive had and usually 4/5.
Forex 3/4 but usually 2 at once depending on opportunities
Futures 1/2 as i dont look at that many now usually ftse and es

I think it depends on what & how you are trading. I used to only ever have one trade open at a time when i was specialising in the ibex and i felt this was more than enough, but then it was ranging over 200pts per day... ah that was the life
