Shorting stocks

Does anyone have any thoughts on the new borrow rules that came in to effect from 1st Nov? As I understand it, it's now much harder to go short (UK equties) as a financial penlaty is payable if the stock isnt delivered on t+3

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this question....

I have been researching cases of people actually paying tax on spreadbet profits and cannot find one single case; not that that means there aren't any, I have only searched the web.

Reading through dozens of pages of old threads of yours i notice you at one point asked HMRC for a written opinion on your own Spreadbet tax situation.

I was wondering if you ever got a reply and if so if you would be kind enough to share it with me?
