Just my opinion, but I would not want to be short the S&P at this time. I have bought some at the money (2000)call options that expire end of september contract.

I personally believe we are going to get a strong up move to at least 2060 and possibly to 2370 area! I am not going to give my reasoning but thought i would share it anyway.

I am expecting the up move to start today....or tomorrow. (1st or 2nd sep)

Ive just baked my humble pie...but will I have to eat it!

Happy trading.

Given the S&P is closed today that might prove tricky.
Do you take cream or gravy with that pie?

Hope you don't mind a bit of fun. As the saying goes if you can't take a joke you shouldn't post online
Anyway I agree there is alot of upside left in the S&P, T2W have a weekly competition to guess the closing price. I have 2026 for this week (even though its only 4 days ;)).
Give it a go.

There's a lot of pie eaten on that thread, by everyone :)

Hi Postman, I was expecting getting some stick for a posting with a provocative title like mine. Everyone entitled to their say...lol It's nice to see at least one person agrees with me, you :)....Ha. I think were going to get a blow off wave, the news is going to be "S&P hits all time high...the markets going up forever crap" to suck people into buying the high, and the smart money dumps its money onto them. The market should be in the correct position for all the smart money to get short after their holidays!

Happy trading (longs)

I'm shorting the S&P till the beef comes home...

The only people buying are institutional bods with money to burn and setup the small private investors for the big fall. Little or no real volume. No faith in the market. No real money. Nothing but hype.

China and Europe flaking off in the wind. When the QE stops and even if it continues there is nothing of real substance at all. No productivity gains. Companies buying back shares with cheap negative rate loans.

Forget the 10-20% but pencil in the 30% drop.

However, I do think that the market makers will try and take out all the shorts before dropping the lot. Timing is the tricky part.

Good things come to those who wait. :whistling (n)

I agree with you, she's going to drop hard and over an extended period. We won't reach these levels for years probably. I think we will get a big strong push up, and then down, down, down. I think this push up will be extended, and catch many traders out. Like you say its all about timing. Happy trading.

Is it possible that's the reason you are last out of the regular entrants in the S&P competition. ;)

Handbags at dawn ? :D

Haha and I'm sure it is. Strategy and monies are in place. We'll have to wait until end of QE and next year.

Right now it is cheaper to borrow money and buy back shares then to go through the productive cycle of trying to sell stuff no one wants to buy with money they haven't earn't.

2-000 if ever there was a round number and people feeling **** all over the World it's about now

Also very curious about Apple new prod launch. Hoping for some new killer technology but hearing $600-1000 a watch is a lot of money to pay for stuff I already have on smart phone. Right now other than data mining and Splunk Inc., I can't get excited about much.

TWTR P/E 500+ oh yeahhhhh :)
FB P/E 50 right oh! :)
AAPL P/E 16 fair cop
GOOG P/E 26 ok

When I hear stuff like this it re-inforces my view of how wrong I can be ;)

Someone is aving a laff. What do I know

Hi Postman, that is why I purchased a call option rather than a futures contract! More wriggle room. Also with non farm payroll end of week, i prefer to be in options rather than futures!

I think I you should send me some double cream for the other pie (not humble) im cooking when/if she moves up! lol

Happy Trading:)

She will get there.....i bet on it!

Going to be an interesting september I think.

WATCH OUT SHORTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just my opinion, but the S&P is going northbound on a greyhound. I think its going to start today. I am getting long at around 2005. This is going to be the start of a big move (lasting days/weeks) in my opinion! Non farm payroll friday, so be careful don't overload the contracts! lol

Excellent place to look like an idiot! lol
