Hi guys,
I have just passed the tests of Optiver and I have some questions, hoping somebody can help me here!!
1. I will receive a telephone interview next thurday and if I pass, I'll go to Amsterdam for a long interview. So I want to know as usual how many peopel will take the interview and what's the rate to get the offer? and what kind of questionss? I got a pretty good result for the tests 80/80, 24/26, 38/40, the problem is I am an actuary sciences' student in France, and my school is not that famous on finance... to be frank, I have a good enough background for financial theory and programming, and I don't think someone cares!!
2. I'v found that we will be trained once we get the offer, and I know there are some people will 'let go' after maybe 6 months, can someone tell me how and why, and what's the percentage?
3. I don't know to much about the prop trading firm, at least less than the IBs, and I ve found some other ones like IMC, tibra, are they famous in this domain? With which markets they do the trading? for example, optiver amsterdam? and the others, are they recruiting?
4.what's the future of a trader for a prop trading firm? Compared to hedge fund, IB, or even acturies? Because I ve got a offer from a fund as assistant of fund manager, and sereval jobs as actuary. The raison I chose to study actuarial sciences is the crisis of 2008, so how is the market now? and once I want to the change, what can I do after?
Thanks
