Position trading stocks

I'm gonna stick £1000 into an account in a few weeks . Is there any policy on trade2win against posting account statements or anything like that ?

Because I think it would make the thread more interesting with live stakes and an attempt to make a nice side income

not that i'm aware of, but do whatever you feel comfortable with mate
have a plan and stick to it. get a view as to how profitable it may have been in sim..that's your goal
let me know if there's anything we can do to assist..

Thanks .
To be perfectly honest , I've studied the markets for years and am confident in this approach. Much of it is reliant upon catching a couple of home runs per year which hasn't happened yet . Rest of the time is a grind but generally profitable I believe .
I'm young and its only £1k so I'll give it a shot

One new setup on BA buy limit 249 stop loss 238.6

I'm in quite a dilemma at the moment .

I'm a trainee auditor at a big accounting firm and had a talk with one of the managers today and they are very strict on owning stock on any clients that are audited not just by my particular office, but also firm-wide.

I'll have to adapt for this , the firm is huge and god knows how many publicly traded clients they have . I may have to switch to forex/futures/commodities to avoid this.

Anybody have any ideas? Every single trade , even as an associate , must be approved which takes a few days

I've been through it, having qualified some years back and was free once I moved out of auditing. I focused on ETFs of commodities and indices at a time when ETFs were just beginning. you could do the same. i would focus on a just a handful if I were you.
possibly adapt your strategy to something that keeps you in longer, that way you are not sitting around waiting for the next elusive trade on a strategy that has a very quick turnaround time.

Did you qualify with a big 4? Kinda curious as well, are you still working in accounting ?

Do you think forex/commodities and futures would be fine ? I can't imagine that would breach anything lol

It was known as the big 6 at the time, back in 1990 when the mergers really started.
Touche to be precise, just before they became Deloitte Touche
I moved out of auditing into mainstream accounting where i was the FC for a manufacturing company who were implementing SAP
It was a ticket out of something I really didn't enjoy. I hated auditing and accounting, only went into the profession to keep my old man happy. Nothing kept him happy!
I'm still in SAP now 20 years on having specialised in a number of very niche areas
Yours are fine, along with like as I say, ETFs

I see dbphoenix is reading , I'm chuffed !

Wonder what he thinks of this approach to trading ?

Lol, that's a fairly common thing I hear from those in industry. It truly takes someone quite odd to enjoy auditing lol. It seems ok so far , automation and data analytics seems to have sweeped a lot of the associate level ticking and bashing that used to occur (still happens though).

I actually would like to head into industry and work up to FC , but I'll see how I feel , I have to pass some tough exams first lol

Pmsl .

Anyways , it looks like I can't really touch stocks without losing my job Llf .

So I must adapt to trading fx, indices , futures and commodities.

This creates a problem of limited trending setups on weekly charts ( a much smaller basket , such that imo the frequency of trades is going to be too small ). I would have to move down to daily charts to increase frequency of trades .

Only benefit would be reduced spreadbetting spreads lol. I will keep you guys updated and will start posting my live account soon as my pay comes in next week !

ok guys , unfortunately I have to close this thread due to being an auditor ffs.

I am going to open a thread which will document me trading a live account , real time with pics , trading this kind of style on the daily charts of every market but equities ( forex, commodities, indices, bonds ).

It's a shame that I never caught a home run trade with this method , but that will hopefully come in time with the live account . I have spent some time adapting the method to daily charts in these markets .

The account will be a small (£1200) but should give enough margin to capitalise on these markets

Bon voyage, chartsy. Job comes first, but keep practicing the method on shares. Maybe live with few trades on indices since that's the proven time frame. A few good trades beats a lot of poor ones :)
