Hey, i like porn as much as the next red-blooded male, but every time i re-start my computer there are 3 porn sites in my favourites which i can honestly say , i never put in there. I've got no idea where they came from but every time i go to my favourites and delete them, they re-appear when i restart my computer. On very rare occasions, i'll be reading the posts on this site, click on 'nesxt page' to go to the latest posts and it'll take me too another poxy porno site. Annoying. any ideas?

ok. i've located the problem sites, but, being a moron on computers i can't actually find an option to delete the files.

p.s downloading the highjack software thing reminded me of another problem i've got on my computer where my computer seems to be saving every image on every website i visit, probably the reason my computer runs like a 3 legged dog, but more on that later.

thanks oatman

ok, have worked out how to delete it. thanks oatman. I'll post my next problem soon....i bet u can't wait.. :)

My next problem. this is gonna be hard to explain, being so non-technical, lol. OK. So i downloaded 'HighjackThis' which takes took me to a desktop folder screen. on that screen is a place called 'other places' (i use windows XP by the way) In 'Other places' are the headings 'shared documents' 'My documents' and then the problem one which is under the heading 'SXQROTQN'.

If i click on this file i find loads of images. mostly from this site as im always on it. Looking in this folder at the moment i can see skims avatar, the bunny! and loads of oyher images.

On this screen is another heading under the 'other places' title. One of them says 'content.IE5.' If i click on this one about 8 folder pop up. 'SXQROTQN' and 7 others with similar names like 'WLUR4ML3'. All of these folders also have hundreds of images stored in them. I can delete som of the folders (although im sure they just start over agin, storing the images) and some say:

"cannot delete P2[2].htm: it is being used by another person or program. Close any files that might be using the program and try again." when i try to delete them

Hope this jiberish makes sence to somone lol, as i think it is making my computer run slower thatn it should be.

If you want to delete a specific file that you know is dodgy, restart windows in "SAFE" mode - this will load the minimum drivers to run the O/S - and you should be able to delete the files/folders manually.

keano, did you go to pcpitstop?. They will recognise any trojans etc and tell you what you can safely delete. It sounds like you've got something you don't want
Have you run any antivirus scans etc. Presumably you're running AV, a firewall and anti spyware progs.
Try this trojan scan
http://www.trojanscan.com/trojanscan/trojanscan.htm

No trojans found, using the above link.

I think the unwanted porn in the favourites problem should have been fixed now. It's just the storing of every image on a site that i visit on my computer now, lol, which i can only locate if i download something.

I'm not gonna clog up the boards with my wierd computer problems so i'm gonna take this problem to a computer type forum if i can find one.

Thanks for the help guys

PORN

hi keano....its strange that youre having trouble with porn sites....ive looked all over the net and i cant find any porn whatsoever.....is it all just a scam by pc world to get us to buy computers?

keano, go to pcpitstop. They're a great bunch and will sort things out no problem. Plenty of experts.http://www.pcpitstop.com/
First run a test which they'll ask you to post so that they can see how you're set up. No personal details are shown. If you show your Hijack scan just delete any personal references in My Documents etc.
See you over there

guys. I done a bit of searching around on the internet and finally found something which relates to my problem of thoses folders with the wierd names, which store thousands of images, clogging up my computer and can't seem to be deleted. Anyone intersted can read the following link. You might be quite suprised about how much information stored on our computers microsoft try to hide from us. Im gonna print it off later and see if i can make sence of it myself:
