"Padding the spread"

I was wondering what it meant when a broker pads the spreads of a quote?

Its probably a good idea to read this to understand the different types of brokers (in forex this is)

"pad" just means how the brokers add points to their bid/ask price to make commission/ money out of each trade you place.

i think ive found unless you are depositing big time, you're never going to get true ecn as there is a much higher minimum trade size and that No broker would let a small inexperienced trader STP
