Has anyone used an NLP therapist/coach in London in order to improve their trading performance?

I am currently looking for one and would be interested if anyone can recommend one.

Thanks.

Hi Mazdaq,

The only NLP coach based in London that I can think of is Steve Ward from http://www.highperformanceglobal.com/

I have no direct experience with this company, so please do some research before proceeding with their services.

Hope the info helps,

Peter

I have met Steve on a 121 many times and he truly is one of the best in the industry. His book is also excellent and well worth a read. This isn't a marketing note and I am sure Steve doesn't need that as he never does blanket marketing etc. To cut a long story short, his book will probably cost £10-£20 on Amazon if you buy a used one for example. To see him on a 121 is priceless. Alternatively, just speak to him for free at a trade show.

I would be more than happy to discuss with anyone on this. Just PM me and we can hook up . No charge from me. Just a beer and sharing thoughts!!

I second this opinion on Steve Ward. I have heard him speak on two occasions now, and he is fantastic.

My Master's degree is in psychology, and - not to burst your bubble - but the psychology community has long dismissed NLP as a pseudoscience.

If you're going to spend money on improving your trading, NLP's not a good investment. Take that money and randomly buy stocks and you'll gain more than you would from an NLP session.

Verial, sorry just to clarify re Steve Ward - Steve is not actually a NLP therapist. So I guess the thread starter should be asking for information on "trading therapists/mental coaches" of which Steve Ward would be an excellent choice, rather than specifically for NLP specialists.

Verial, I'd be really interested to know whether your Psychology studies are helping you in your trading? I am trying to work through a Trading Psychology book at this moment (a Steenbarger text) and I am finding it tremendously helpful. So it would be great to hear whether your background has been a big helping hand from the word 'go' in your trading career.

Look forward to hearing your response!

As former NLP practitioner, I can say that its not really appropriate for trading. With trading the problems are a bit deeper. Using NLP/ hypnosis are only temporary fixes.

There was one guy, I don't have his details I am afraid. He was a trader/coach/psychologist. Though he wasn't a qualified psychologist, he understood the trading mindset better than a psychologist. This is not first hand experience but from two trade friends.

Having met Grindler or Bandler ( cant remember which one ) some years ago...
I too would save my money and buy some shares instead..

Stunning. Even if NLP helped (which it doesn't) why would you imagine it could be applied to a professional endeavour such as trading? Are you the perfect weight? Are you free of all alcohol, substance and food addictions? Are you totally squared away with all your relationships? Do you have no financial problems? Is your self-esteem solid? Are you perfectly happy with your physical attributes? Do you feel you have total emotional control? Are you spiritually centered and at one? Are you always confident and optimistic? Do your friends, family and community look up to you?

If all the above aren't ticked as OK, why would you even think of trading?

Or even trying to cross the road?
