NAS & Dow late rally

The NAS climbed 100 points and the Dow 150 points late in the day for no apparent reason.
Volumes also increased? Does anyone know how to find this out?
AMCC warned around 3pm E.T. and then the market took off.

Is this the point to look for buy opportunities?

Futures down

Well the futures obviously don't think it is even a temporary rally.
Dow and Nas off significantly.

I think I will sit on the sidelines and day trade mothercare.
