multi-nics

why on earth would anyone want more user names? only low life scammers use them.

...and of course the lulzters.

give it up now brewski, it's a slippery slope :cheesy:

If such a thing were possible, I'd vote to not only ban multi-nicks - but to only permit people to register with their real name. It would solve many of the problems T2W suffers from at the moment. Thankfully, few of the trolls on here are in the quite same league as the pathetic apologies for human beings that are exposed in this program - but the basic issues are much the same.

To be fair, I admit if it was impossible to make a multi-nic there probably would be a lot less crap on this site.

i'd advise getting rid of the spam 1st before worrying about multinicks. t2w are already behind the deletion curve on the latest crapola http://www.trade2win.com/boards/tra...ing-50-000-google-page-ranking-week-more.html other sites appear to have removed already. why is it loud and proud still on t2w?

other stuff too, stolen credit card info sales posts, dodgy fx broker affiliate landing pages, will be left up for days. yet harmless posts, some say that are enlightening?, are ripped out in an instant on a multinick witch hunt. wtf is going on in the kitchen??

what about this http://www.trade2win.com/boards/brokerages/139392-city-credit-capital.html

so what did poem do?

he made a wonderful post in a vendor pump thread, telling it how it is. alas gone :(

vendor still there though, largeing it with a method that'll cost you thousands from him, or you could get it for 20 odd quid from amazon, or indeed free from here or forex factory, or numerous other places around interwebs, it's getting rather...

Don,
It sounds like you're wanting to return to the fold?

As you know only too well, I'm not a Mod' and can only speculate as to what's going on here. In the 1st of the two links you provide the OP has been banned, so it's obviously been seen by the Mods. But, perhaps the 2nd link hasn't been reported or, if it has, seeing as you and others have made your point loud and clear - perhaps the Mods decided not to pull it to let you have some fun and to serve as an illustration to more gullible members what this stuff looks like and how it works? I'm just being devil's advocate here and, clearly, it's not been handled in the same way as you would have dealt with it when you were a Mod'. Nonetheless, observing from the sidelines, my interpretation of the situation is that it's a stylistic difference - as opposed to poor moderation. Just my $0.02 worth!
;)
Tim.

P.S. I suspect Poem was a multi-nick for DR

well no actually i don't want to return, for one thing i don't actually like they way things are going. and no i'm not saying it's poor moderating at all, just saying that there's been an obveous shift in emphasis on what stays and goes, and indeed, who stays and goes. there's been a massive love in with vendors, of all varieties, that's been very clear. to the point that i stopped reporting posts a while back, it was very obveous that things had changed. it shouldn't be that way, the site guidelines are the same.

the site guidelines are the same.

They've already said that they are far too busy to actually let people know what sort of content they want, and what is, and what isnt acceptable behaviour.

The site's adgenda changed years ago, but they refuse to change the guidelines, presumably because a) its too much work, b) noone ever reads them (other for lulz and mischief) c) they dont want to actually make public their true intentions in the hope that their target market dont notice.

How anyone could be a mod, or a member of staff and fail to notoce the bleedin obvious right in front of their eyes is beyond me. Thankfully, you are starting to see the light.

Hi Don,
Thanks for the feedback - I'll link your post in the Staff forum to ensure the Mods, Sharky et al see it, I know they'll be interested in your views. Like you, I'm aware of a change in Moderation but, like I said in my previous post, it's a stylistic one - as opposed to poor moderation or policy change. And you're right about the site guidelines too but, as I'm sure you'll be the first to point out, they aren't always totally black and white in all situations, and on some occasions it's down to the discretion of the Mods as to how they're interpreted. Everything changes, nothing stays the same - that's life.
Tim.

the hare,
I've reported your post as, IMO, it amounts to harassment. Even if the Mods disagree, it's still a complete load of bunkum.

If posts are reported they will be addressed but we are very low on resource at the moment. Those who have recently been banned are all multi-nics of previously multiple banned members. What happens is they start off posting quite good content then revert to type and either start posting porn or making abusive posts at which point they get reported and are banned again. A previous comment that some members have all posts removed is about efficiency as there is the option to use a "One Touch Ban and Clean" facility. This removes all posts made and bans at the same time and is used when there has been multiple posts that need cleaning that would take too much time to remove individually.

sorry i don't get your point, ok damn thick sometimes i may be i know, but the site just sits here and waits for members to post in discussions. the boards you see are what is posted by the membership. as a mod you just made sure posts followed the guidelines, which are published for everyone to see. an unpublished but important requirement is looking out for member safety, especially newbs.

just to be clear, all i'm highlighting is that there's been a shift in emphasis in the following of the guidelines, and an obveous concentration in one area of it. and imo this has led to more spam and vendor posts staying up, which compromises member safety, especially newbies to the board. that's all, they're all good chaps behind the scenes and they'll know (or should do lol) where i'm coming from :D

So then why will nobody remove TF's posts if it is so easy? undo and then redo the ban and problem solved!
