First steps of a novice

Hi All

I have decided to keep an online journal of my trades. Having only started out will real
money in August I consider my self a very novice trader. Hopefully I will improve
over time before I go bust.

Any way here are a list of my trades for August. I am currently using a mechanical
system of my own devising which appears to work well when paper trading but the
acid test will be how it works in the real world.

11/8/03 Dow + 47 points
13/8/03 NASDAQ + 5 points
18/8/03 Dow + 63 points
19/8/03 S&P +6 points
21/8/03 Dow +11 points
25/8/03 Dow + 1 point
26/8/03 Dow + 12 points
27/8/03 Dow - 25 points
28/8/03 Dow - 50 points

Total for August 70 points.

Not bad for a start I suppose but I am a bit disappointed with my last two trades. Its
my own fault for trying to trade and work at my proper job at the same time. Still you
live and you learn.
I am going to start using limit orders when I am unable to watch the market closely. It
will limit the profitability of my system but a little profit is much better than a loss.

Regards to all that read this journal. I will try to keep you posted with my September
trades more often. Work and trading permitting.

Oppps Lost one

Had to happen, my first loosing trade this month

15/9/03 Dow - 12 points
16/9/03 Dow +10 points
18/9/03 Dow + 42 points

Month total to date 143 points

Weekend trade

This trade got stopped on a limit order as I left it open from friday, were it had failed to perform

22/9/03 Dow + 40 points
