Sticky Introduce Yourself

I was away from T2W for a decade or more and missed the story of what happened here. It now looks like a post-apocalyptic landscape in which a few people have survived but much has been destroyed by summat I missed? Anyway.. I am UK-based, in my late 70s, trading at random moments between 7am and 9pm on weekdays. Mainly UK stocks, a few US stocks. Daytrader mostly but some positions held or adjusted over a week, a month or two. I trade via spreadbets, upwards and downwards, (via Spreadex and IG) giving me a fivefold leverage. I do also have a few longer term shareholdings. In the past I went very heavily into studying the full range of indicators - but I don't use any at all now - I just look for charts that catch my eye and check out company news affecting them. I don't trade or follow indices, I ignore them. Ditto crypto. I avoid exploration stocks (oil/minerals/etc).To the sophisticated trader I'm sure my methodology will look ridiculously sloppy, with imprecise timings and wide (2%-5%) bid/offer spreads. I don't care - I do what works for me. A very laid back low stress approach. For 15 years (age 50-65) I made a living doing this for a couple of hours a day from home, but focussed on other aspects of life once my pension kicked in. But I enjoyed trading so I am back doing it, and making good gains from it, in between assorted creative activities. One particular area that works for me is betting downward on early morning spikes in which the price rise looks excessive in relation to the news that triggered it. I've detailed how that works, with examples, in a forum post.
