Apparently the Gallegos settled in Wales, centuries before the Romans arrived. That is supposed to be the reason for the heavy beards and and jet black hair of many Welshmen.

Spanish for Wales is Gales. Gallegos come from Galicia. Since that lot got around a bit, perhaps, not as much as the Vikings, but they were sea explorers, it makes sense.
