Hi

I am looking for a SIPP CFD provider. Given City Index and IG Index have pulled out of this market, the current choice seems to be limited to CMC Markets and GNI Touch.

CMC markets does not appear to get good reviews.

GNI has no reviews in T2W, but, it does seem to have good reviews elsewhere. Anyone tried GNI? Any comments/thoughts?

Thanks

hi, i can firmly reccommend GNI touch, myself and 30 other traders that i work alongside have been using it for years and can honestly say it is head and shoulders above the rest, we have over 30 platforms with them and 20 traders trading their SIPP, stay well clear of CMC and the other retail platforms, GNI only profit from charging you commission and financing, as aposed to making profit from your losses. Email me and ill tell you who to speak to to get the same professional rates as us, Chris

I tried the demo platform for GNI and found it was fantastic. The only thing I found was that it was quite expensive. Do you not find the software cost and commissions quite pricey compared to say E*Trade?

i agree, i am only comparing it to market maker and cityindex, which i had accounts with before and for me there is no comparison, the cost is slightly higher but think it is more than worth it, i havent used e-trade so cant compare mate

Haven't done SIPP with etrade but i trade CFD with them all day no problems and for £9.95 a trade you can't argue

etrade

i use etrade for share deals and think their service is very good with excellent prices. Always helpful when you phone. Been with them for about 8 months.

Was thinking about Galvan but after reading this am going to abandon that idea... esp as etrade do cfds...... my mind must have got distracted...dunno what i was thinking..derrrrrr

Anyhow I need to learn about them before i start bunging hard cash at it so I am off to play on bullbearings with virtual money.

Some advice of CFDs would be appreciated..

Interesting. until sterling collapsed (to my benefit) I used to trade the cash market in the US through ETrade and optionsXpress - both of which are excellent. Good to hear the ETrade UK is good too - I will speak to them as well regarding moving my SIPP to them.

I have always been in the cash market (ETFs only) and the only reason I am considering CFDs is because:

- I will be able to continue trade the US ETFs that I specialise in
- The UK ETFs have large spreads, quoted in different currencies, and low liquidity

But, I am trying to figure out the financing costs of CFDs as I tend to hold positions (long and short) for weeks (average 5 weeks). Obviously with cash market trading there is no financing to consider.

Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated.

my real nag is the £50 system fee per month, to have the software with level 2 data - £50 is too much and i think they will charge it if you do less than 20 trades per month (looks like they want you to overtrade!)
