Edward Tate

NMM scam alive and well

I was cold-called by Luke Matthews from Kensington Price earlier this morning and like many others my google research on 'New Millenium Medical' and 'Kensington Price' led me here. My suspicions were aroused by a number of unanswered questions and inconsistencies in the phone call.
1. He couldn't tell me where he got my details from, all he kept saying was that they'd been passed to him by a colleague (James Somebody) who'd just been promoted into the corporate area.
2. He commented on the county in my address and claimed to come from a small village about 30 miles away from my home town. He had absolutely no trace of the accent and he subsequently asked where my town was because he hadn't heard of it.
3. He asked about the weather 'back home' (raining as usual) and then said he was enjoying another warm sunny day in Geneva. According to Yahoo weather it's currently 12C and cloudy in Geneva.

The current 'never to be missed, chance of a lifetime, groundfloor opportunity' is $5 a share with floatation before the end of May.

Thanks to all for the comments and links in this thread. My new best firend Luke has promised to phone me back on Thursday to answer any questions I have, I'm looking forward to asking about New Millenium Packaging, Steven Durland, Donald Mintmire, why NMM didn't float as planned back in July last year, why the revenue and profit figures in the highly extensive NMM financial data are inconsistent, etc etc etc. I wonder how many questions I can ask before he hangs up on me?

I got hooked too, in Feb 05 for £5800 worth of NMM stock. Now Quest oil!

Having agreed to buy some Quest oil shares on recommendation of DAVID STIRLING of EDWARD TATE , I went online to check Quest Oil out ( yes I know...locking the stable door etc...) At this point I discovered you all and the penny dropped with an almighty clang! I now have a contract note for 30000 which I have absolutely no intention of honouring. I have seen the December04 financial statement and it stinks. Some $750000 in the red.
Anyone like to hazard a guess as to my legal position. The contract note came from Omega Clearing Service Corporation or possibly Quest oil corporation, Apartado 10455-1000,San Jose San Jose,Costa Rica !!! Payment to be made to First Curacao Bank in the Netherland Antilles.

Don't worry about honouring the contract, your legal position is perfectly sound. The contract is unenforceable as it was an illegal sale in the first place!!

Very naively I have purchased 1400 New Millennium Shares in Feb.

I have just received my share certificate, and after checking with a stockbroker friend, it is authentic.

With the share certificate I also received a very glossy 4 page brochure on New Millenium.

Time will tell whether I have been screwed But has anyone else, who bought, received their certificate and brochure?

I don't need all the crap saying it is all a con just some constructive comments, please?

DON'T PAY, they can't do anything about it.

Chances are they''ll threaten you with lawyers etc but counter with the fact that YOUR lawyer is looking forward to receiving their complaint.

Also ask them in which country they'll be looking to sue you in.

I agree with Anley, don't pay, they can't do anything.

I also recently had a telephone call from Edward Tate pushing NMM shares. The IPO was to take place in October 2005, they wanted to sell shares at $5.50 and said that they would be worth between $12 to $14. Having been caught with Osprey Gold shares, I told them no thank you.

Be very wary of buying shares through cold calls.

Best of luck.

Can you please advise why they can't do anything and what backgound knowledge you have to substantiate this?

I have a colleague who has bought Quest at 55c and does not want to pay.

Thank you for your help.

Dear oh dear, if I'd only known you guys have been talking about NMM for months....have purchased 1000 shares only last week via Kensington Price - and then decided to do a bit of due diligence doh.....too late.....down to experience I guess......the only thing is that they have come back to me and trying to sell me another allocation !!
Tried to get financials and further info, and all I got was stonewalling and blah blah blah.......

Paul Murray and Gordon Robertson the names to remember.

I'm just trying to think of a way I could scam them back - especially if they are after some more of my cash.

Further evidence of ET not being the polished financial advisors that they purport to be, the companies and markets link on their website does not link to anywhere although it used to when I first visited the site pre purchasing Datacept shares. City Equities also use to show as did Sharecast.

I would be interested to know how many people who have been contacted by ET, Argus et al,
have had dealings with City Equities.

If someone within City Equities has made available names from their database to unregulated / non FSA members then surely they are in breach of something or other.

It will be interesting to read other views on this subject.

As you will see on my earlier posts I definitely subscribe to the view that City Equities is the source for ET. I have actually had a letter from the head of compliance for City Equities strenuosly denying it. I suppose there is a possibility that City Equities web site was hacked, but the timing for me is that the call from ET was soon after I signed up with City Equities who are a company that specialise in AIM penny stocks.

Has ET been talking?

All

Just recently I have had another series of cold calls from an outfit called Tanacorum based in Spain, although they do not use guise number and give a proper address. What I do not like is the frequency of the calls and after the experience with ET alarm bells ring. This chap is pushing OTCBB stocks qouted spectacular gains. It maybe totally legitimate, but they are not regulated and I will not be using their services.

Anyone else heard of this company.

Regards.

Noticed the New Millenium Medical website has been updated with news of their imminent IPO. Have checked the SEC site and still can't find any proof of their filing.

I sent an email to their investment ( perhaps that should be 'investment??!!**) PR. The reply underneath is what I received back. I did receive a share certificate but have no way of finding out the present price. Like other share certs from dodgy folk like Edward Tate they are RESTRICTED. Trying to find out what this means
Note the spelling of the New Millenium Medical blurb!

Dear Mr Fairhurst,

We have volontarly delayed the IPO date in order to maximize our
capitalization. We will submit all the required documentation to the SEC
by the end of the summer and then we go through a legal 16 weeks process
to enable us to go public. New Millenium Medical should be on the market
befoire the end of 2005 if not sooner.

I invite you to go and visit our website regularly, press releases will be
posted as new info comes in. We also are re-structuring the company by
merging all the subsidiaries together and we just acquired a new company.
We are growing very fast and are currently number 4 in France.

I remain entierly at your disposal should you require any further info,

Best Regards,
Valentine Denesle

The dodgy spelling is a nice touch. Even if she is French, why not use a spell check. It does however seem like they have gone to quite a bit of trouble if it is all a con. I also received my share certificates a while ago. Still highly dubious, but have no choice but wait. Waved goodbye to my money a while ago anyway, so not holding out much hope.

Thank you for your help.

Quite simple really

Firstly, you did not sign any agreement.

Secondly, even if you had, you have a fourteen day cool-off period by uk law for anything sold to you in your home and for any financial services (eg: if you signed up to an insurance policy you would be able to cancel within fourteen days of receiving the policy with no penalties)

Edward tate stopped ringing me (yes they also made threats) when I made it clear that I would not put up any money until they could answer a number of questions to my staisfaction. They never did.

good luck

Has anyone been offered IPO shares for New Millenium Medical from a telephone salesman saying they represent kensington price? I was wondering about this as I have had a couple of marathon phone calls from two chaps who said they represented this company. However they wanted a lot of cash and they wanted it soon! I thought I smelled a rat so I declined their offer, which seemed far too good to be true. I would love to know if there is a scam going on or if I've just turned down the offer of a lifetime! If its a scam who should I inform?

This is a scam, if you search on Google with "New Millenium Medical" then you can find details on the Trade2Win Boards of some other people that have also been scammed, in that case by the firm "Edward Tate", a name that is not unfamilar to this board

New Millenium Medical have a website here:

http://www.newmilleniummedical.com/index_home.html

The site is impressive but it could have been created by anyone and there is one fundamental problem. The company that people are being invited to purchase shares in is

New Millenium Medical Inc.
222 Lake view PMB 435
West Palm Beach Fl 33401 - USA

These details are on the site on the left hand menu on every page.

However, according to the State of Florida's website this particular company is inactive and is in the process of being dissolved as it has failed to submit accounts:

http://www.sunbiz.org/scripts/corde...r2=0000&r3=N&r4=NEWMILLENIUMMARBLEGRANITE&r5=

You might also like yo note that some of the "impressive" parts of the site have been stolen from, for example:

Well we wish we had seen this thread earlier! Today we went ot 14 Rue du Rhone to meet David Cohen - a meeting set up a by my father a couple of weeks ago after he had made a small investment in NMM. 14 Rue du Rhone is a postal address with offices to rent by the hour. The receptionist did not know of the company but David Cohen had rented a room which had later been cancelled by Alastair Buchanan who had left a message to be called when we arrived. He was very apologetic on the phone but could not meet us since he had suddenly moved the company to Belize - without telling the employees  . Also, it is company policy that employees cannot meet clients face-to-face. Last time my father spoke to him he was a persuasive salesman leaving for the US, with a supervisor who called my father back a few days later. This time he was a Director and there were many similar inconsistencies in his story. The 'Trading Floor' and 25 employees were non existent. We left feeling all was not right and a quick internet search resulted in this forum. We have found an NMM in Annecy (slightly different postal code but Poisy) and we have found a PHT but there is no apparent link. We will investigate further..... My father has also spoken to Valentine and several other employees. In the meantime we keep hoping that all is right and the investment is safe!
