Dow 2007

Still waiting for support ( bottom ) that will hold

What a panic over oil at $96 a barrel. If you-know-who attacks Iran it will be well over $200 and not for the short term. Think what that will do for the markets !!
The mind boggles

Interesting .. Goldman's says sell oil it slumps before making a massive 700pip ($7) recovery to new highs.... Ultra bullish. I did think about a long around 89.50 but chickened out ....even though it was low risk ... it then rallied to $96+ Silly me...

Goldman MUST have bought the dip in what might seem a curious sequence of events :)
I'm now drawn to trading oil intraday - that's where the trend and the vol is !

when the masses are bullish, go short ?

HS, that's exactly what the Bulls were saying about Wheat exactly this time last month :cheesy:

Does this game ever get to you ?

Strange you should mention wheat

I had a nightmare last night where some guy was asking me where he should deliver the 1000 tons of wheat I had bought !

Phew - only a nightmare or it might have been weetabix for the next 100 years

When the masses ...

400+ sell off then 200 pt rally...

Well at almost $94 there is still food on the table for the masses to feed off.. long or short or should that be shortorlong in case he hasn't got a trademark :cheesy:

I understand your view but the oil market reminds me of the tech bubble.... and remember how much money was made then... long then short !

What would the masses do withoout guidance from the General... ? :cheesy:

You will probably remember the system I've shown you some time ago (buying PDL, selling PDH, etc...)

just for old time's sake

have a look at where the candles close... none close below the line of the previous day low

as for the exit, there's that wide range body that closes well off the highs
even without volume all of this is fairly easy to notice

just my 2c

You'll probably not ever fully appreciate how disappointed I am with my failure to grasp what you tried to show me earlier this year. Talk about casting pearls before swine! Sorry I didn't get the intended benefit from your advice. Nothing to prevent me going back over the system you tried to show me and figuring out how to make it profitable, even if I'm not trading that market on that time frame. My move to long term trading aside, if I found an edge on the Dow I'd go back to trading it. I'm going to read your journal in more detail - no doubt that will start to talk about the way you approach these markets.

I have absolutely no doubt that you have a very good edge in this market. Perhaps I will find it easier to work on a system when I'm not in the market risking capital and always looking for setups. The market will reward me in due course when I've worked hard enough at it.

Perhaps I'm still not at home with the concept of being able to take money from the markets virtually at will. I'm sure that when I finally find and consistently apply an edge I'll view things differently.

Cheers Pat...

Important figures tomorrow 12.30 - Employment in USA
I'd forgotten .... in all the excitement to quote FW. :cheesy:

Oil has made a new all time high on fridays, 7 weeks in a row
- should be interesting with 200+ pts to go .... To be fair it's not a great set up (on longside) now since we are well above the 9200 lows and also 9300 higher low but ...lets see any way

LL - you mentioned oil last week or was it this week can't remember - and it has been a classic bull market ..... buy the dips.. and fast too .... runs rings around the dow .... even on days like today... I think I can guess your response ...perhaps :)

Hi guys,

I've had a spectacular day and really revelling in all these falls. My trauma from last week is like a distant memory far away in the horizon - even space millions of light years away.

I'm out flat now wondering what next? 13500 - 13200 and 13000
