Do you find trading boring?

How can anyone be bored when there is something to look at or interact with in so many forms and medias. I can never decide which way to go to amuse myself.

I've been listening to a lot of different talks on www.ted.com during my trade waiting time as I also trade on a large time frame. TED talks are pretty awesome, expert talks bout stuff to do with science, technology, business, self-development, religion, philosophy, etc. Some really stimulating stuff.

If you're spending large amounts of time infront of the pc alone then it has to be www.youporn.com

Kept my mind and hands busy and saved me many many times from overtrading

I find it fascinating actually, and very enjoyable.

Boredom is dangerous, as it can lead to over-trading. I can understand this, but it's something that just has to be conquered. I no longer have that itch - I don't trade to trade, I trade...well, to win, really.

Anyone having trouble with boredom, google "Big Naturals" and you should find plenty to keep your hands away from your mouse between trades.

This seems to be from the salary cap and the economy for many teams. It was only a matter of time before the trade deadline became less active than previous years. Sure the phones lines were blazing but the demands were hotter.

If you are bored it means your size is too small!

and your time frame is too long.

Up the size *2 and then halve the timeframe again and again until your blood runs cold and you are getting palpitations -

then ease off a bit if you want to be merciful

:cheesy:

And as for stops
they are for the:- the uncertain
wimps
newbies
muddled headed
and various forms of nitwits

I hope your being sarcastic
....Someone might take that piece of advice...

well 6 months ago I would have agreed with you. But currently I am taking my own advice and haven't been stopped out once. Takes balls of steel sometimes tho

does not that violate the basic rule of a succesfull trader: cut your lossess short and let your winners run?

I've been an "independent trader" for a while now and tend to trade off longer time frames (4hrs, daily). I might not get any signals for 2 or 3 days, during which time I try to amuse myself by reading about trading, surfing trade2win, reading the Daily Mail etc. Anyone else have any tips for keeping amused? (Polite answers only)

....Give up Daily Mail for a start....!

I have tried everything from tight stops to extra loose ones and generally got caught by the mms.
Now I am trying to get the general direction as right as possible and not worry unduly on zigzags. My position size is however modest. The situation and current forecast is reviewed daily and acted upon ruthlessly - which is a sort of stop I guess.

Whenever I start to get bored, I just think I could be sat in an office 9-5 doing something even more boring for someone else!
