I only use ODL/FXCM live account......seems to be consistent and never freezes me out unless a very very high volatility move

I worked with FXCM tech support but didn't get very far - not very helpful and still haven't gotten back to me after several days of sending them info on my internet connection. At the same time they were having their own technical issues with their site. I've gone back to an Alpari demo account which seems to be working very well.

to me one of the major major reasons so many people do not progress in trading
is the combination of :-

(some) poor and inconsistent platforms
The variable quality of domestic internet connections
the inadequate Hardware bought


......before one even starts trying to apply strategies and systems

JRP Limited who was an important trading mentor to me before he sadly passed away last year was a stickler for the importance of his IT set-up

his platorm was like Mission control !......and lots of backups....

so to all who want to take this game seriously make sure you are using the best when you start playing for real money

yep..........the 80/20 can be used on the 1 mins as well if you have the speed

focus on E/U and target 5 pips max

4170 on E/U is about it as Euro looks overextended on the 1 mins south

on the 5mins there is no 80/20 trade signalling ...

each timeframe can be treated seperately and uniquely using the 80/20 - as the target pips are naturally based on the timeframe concerned

therefore it is perfectly feasable to be say buying yen and USd on the 1 hour and scalping them south on the 1 min based on the 80/20 signals for each timeframe
