complete beginner

has anyone got any info for a complete beginner to trading,
software, sites, books , etc anything really that would me a good basic grounding in trading theory/practice
i,ve read some of the threads here and am still none the wiser
any help ,info would be greatly appreciated

1. What are you looking at trading? (UK/US/Europe? Shares/Futures?)

2. How do you plan to do it? (Spreadbet, Direct, CFDs?)

3. What sort of timescale? (Intraday/Daily/Weekly?)


And any other questions that other members can think of. Answer these and we'll all do our best to answer your questions.
