Best Thread Capital Spreads

Ha ha, that is the way to go. No really, they will probably put you on referral to a dealer, and in my book that is the same as actually stoping you from trading.

We should all be very pleased that there is another SB firm chasing us. As much competition possible is always good for our interests.

What we need now, is another firm offering 20% rebate on our spreads!

gle101 Been trading for 20 years. No offence taken but I think i know what I'm talking about. Been both sides of the fence as a provider /broker and as a client/trader.

and you think kicking and squealing about lifting a wrong price is acceptable? if i showed a blatantly wrong price i'd honour a token amount only.

not if it's blatantly the wrong fcking market tho. as i said i would honour a token amount and that would be to keep whoever the counterparty is sweet.

if it breaks the market yes, agreed. if a wrong price goes through in SETS etc it should be busted. But in a synthetic market like SB or Fx you make the price and if you are hit, that's that. Do you honestly think that if you are quoting, say, Cable, at a bank and you give a wrong quote to a counterparty they would let you off? Wouldnt happen, you would have to wear it and job out of the position.

if you're quoting around an underlying market say FTSE and future trades 5080 and you're quoting 5074-76 then that is blatantly wrong.

i'm not saying let me off i,'m saying if i quoted obviously the wrong price and got lifted i would do some but not all of the order. if the counterparty is not some sort of cnut they'd obvoiusly understand. market etiquette. obviously with SB they have no edge-in the big boy leagues whatever you're quoting will ahve more edge than 1 tick on FTSE.

On the futures market the trade would be busted. What Im not getting is that everyone on here moans about spreads and lag time etc. and when the opportunity arises, albeit rarely, to profit from a multi million dollar house quoting a wrong price they get on their moral high horse and say they wouldnt take advantage. I have taken advantage of mis-quotes on behalf of my clients and obviously they have been very happy. Can't see the issue. My duty, as a broker, is to take care of my clients, their positions and their money. It's all about the TCF.

market etiquette.

WTF is that

lol

It`s a dog eat dog trading enviroment

The days of gentlemans hand shakes has fast disappeared .......the city is one large casino full of Sharks .None more so than the sb companies

if you're a broker every trade has two counterparties. BOTH are your clients.

as for that comment trusted-spoken like a true idiot.

Did you, what a pleasant young man you are. Pointless carrying on when the responses are so futile and childish. It started as a decent discussion.

Sorry, as I said no offence intended. How come this is not my experience after 5 years of trading SB (12+ trading)? The size I agree is a valid cause for referral, but short term trading combined with high frequency trading, you will definitively be targeted and probably flagged.

Of course |I dont doubt your experience but seeing it from both sides I have only ever seen it happen because of trade size. If my clients exprienced this sort of treatment form a provider I would make sure that it would only happen once as we all have the option of where to place our business.

Looking back a couple of years. What a difference, today you can really trade using SB as long as you are aware of the risk scenarios.
