Hi -- Does anyone know of a spread betting company that honours stop orders if they are hit overnight ? I have accounts with World Spreads and Capital and they don't. They will close your position at " best possible price " on thier opening time the following morning. Not much help if there has been an overnight crash.

I really doubt it, and here's why:

If they did, then one could, perhaps in partnership with another person, open two accounts. One second before the close of the market, go long in one account and short on the other with a very tight stop. In the morning, instant profit!

Turns out I'm wrong about this, CMC Markets, TD Waterhouse, and City Index (for a start) do offer them on more liquid markets, although there are minimum stop distances and TD Waterhouse require the trades to be done over the phone :(

CMC don't on YM which is what I was looking for but thanks for the others anyway. Just wondering how everyone else manages thier trades overnight ?

Overnight? nooooooo

not for me unless i'm up 100pts. I figure the asian session is usually flat anyway so i can exit then re enter next morning. My system will usually give me a morning re entry into a trend.

i would never ever have an indicie buy riding overnight. Stocks unlike currencies really can go down to zero. Although i am sometimes in the market both ways.

Suppose Iran was attacked? Jet plane hits White House? Or the NY exchange? Bomb in Canary wharf? Some of the reasons i stay out of overnights in s/b with no guarenteed stop.
