Brewski's Leverage Abuse

Which casino do you hit?

Gunwharf, Portsmouth tonight. Goodwood on the horses tomorrow. Rest Sunday. Will need the sleep.

Just getting ready to go out after spending the day getting fitted for a fantastic but over the top blue suit and pink shirt - I'm standard size so very little tailoring involved. I'm gonna look such a d1ck tomorrow. :)

Have a good weekend mate.

True. But it would make sense to land the ball on a small bet. The casino's winners will then pay for the small loser. Market is a bit like that I think. In order for you to win, you have to be the small bet compared to all other bets. Going with the crowd aka trend will cause you to lose because then you are part of the big bet.The market must land on the small bet or it will go bankrupt.

I know what you're saying although I don't go with the crowd, I go with what way the market's going. I've just looked and CMC say that usd/jpy has 70% of their clients as buyers and I've been selling. Dow today is 79% sellers where as I was buying earlier in the week. Not that I ever pay any attention to their client sentiment.

The market either goes up or down, I don't care why. I enter randomly and hope for a 100-200 point move in my favour.

Very extravagant!

I've been to that casino years ago with not much luck, I may join you one evening. Give them a bashing mate (y)

If you got the direction right, then you would have to deepen the stop or eliminate it altogether. This is the man'ing up part. Public info in that respect came from the merchants who tell you at what point they can take your money. If you 10x the number they recommend, they will have no way of taking you out because their real intent would be to go take money from the big bet..

Swings and roundabouts. If you want to trade 1p a point and keep a trade going for 10 years that's up to you.

Just to prove it can be done, here's a screenshot of my most recent "big" win and no this isn't photoshopped I can prove I actually traded it because I was posting about it in Lee Shepherd's trading diary at the time. Only £346 cash in the account and over 5k profit.

It's only so difficult because I have such a close stop but with some patience and a bit of luck I'll catch another runner.

It is also possible to win the lotto with even less money, yet you are not starting a thread to win the lotto.

Luck is possible in the market. But the market is the worst place possible for people who rely on luck. The 90%-99% of the people who lose their shirts can tell you the same.

So at what point do you decide it isn't working ? When what you have previously won are all gone ? You will only get 26 go's. This is a rather small number.

Also you haven't mentioned how much you have lost prior to winning the 5k. At a guess, I don't imagine the whole picture to be pretty because the bucketshops have significantly greater edge than casinos. They or their chums can just move the price - akin to picking up the ball and moving it in roulette.

Sorry to pour ice cold water on your bonfire, man. Staring at the market for 24/7/365/5 does that to people.

But carry on regardless. I am a fan of people who's got balls and make it in the end.

I opened this CMC account last June and currently it sits at a profit of around £1900. I trail stops and actually only made £3700 profit on the trade above (I should have said that rather than let everyone assume I actually made 5k - my bad, I was just showing that it's possible), I tend to widen the stop the more profit I get - as you can see it's 60 points there.

Lots of assumptions there joe, and to be fair at best, an amateur view of bucketshops.

Obvious to anyone with a brain stem that brewski is under no illusions of what it is that hes actually doing, the thread is on topic. Got a much firmer grip on reality than some o the nimrods round here.

60 points could be spiked in a microsecond. If the incentives are there for the shop, even a 600 point stop won't be enough. To gamble and win big, there's no option but to go in with a pair same size as footballs. If you truly believe your directional analysis is correct, then you shouldn't be afraid to lay your deep pockets on the line.

I don't ever remember a story about a sissy gambler making it.

Have to agree with DT, you are making a lot of unfounded passive comments about the "shops". If we are to assume you mean regulated businesses such as IG/Fins etc then I would really like to see any instance where they have spiked price 60 pts in microseconds without the underlying remotely moving in the same manner (barring an expansion of the spread around the underlying price (within reason)). If they are ever caught doing this you would simply quote the underlying movements as per the exchange if going to appeal.

Its kinda like suggesting a bookie wont pay out on Frankel winning his horse race, because they make up their own winner:mad:

What brewski is doing is not easy on the old grey matter.

Kudos to him if he makes his fortune(y)

Lots of false starts, give backs etc, but when the home runs come in, and he maxes out on a runaway market, he will be way ahead, especially if playing in the right locations.

G/L in your thread mate - follow your own path!

brewski was seeking my conversation. Clearly he found my ideas useful. He's more experienced, and could understand some of the the stuff I was saying.

I don't have court approved evidence on any of this. Even if I did, what's in it for me to share it with you ? This kind of info would rate 11 out of 10 on the holy grail scale. Naturally, these must be hush-hush and only be understood by the select circle.

DT is more on the beginning end of the spectrum. So I don't expect he knows what's going on. But give him time, that one's got potential. He's good in math and can swing his photoshop at a moment's notice. You will learn alot from him.

Anyway, here's a 6000+ point spike my shop and/or chums did in silver. Pitty brewski missed it. He could have made close to a million with only £200. It only takes 1 micro second (my estimate, my chart has only m1 precision).

Thanks for the chart, but it was not your bucket shop that did this, the low on the actual market (sept silver future) hit a low of 32/33 so even a bit lower than your bucket shop. See, the bucket shops cant just make up b*ull**** prices there has to be an underlying base price.

Thanks for all the other advice also!
