Hi to all once again,

I gave up trading some years a go as I could not devote the necessary time to it.

I am now completely retired  and so have time and a very small ammount of spare cash to devote to it.

Really, I should be regarded as a complete newbie as what I once knew (which admittedly wasn't much) I have forgotten.

But I am older and therefore (I hope) wiser.

Time will tell.

Enjoy retirement - it's just a lurch from pleasure to pleasure

hey LM welcome back!

Out of interest, you joined in 2006... what has been your experience of trading since then? (or the beginning if earlier) :)

Ah! Retirement ...... no pressures, time to think, time to ponder, time to experiment. Time to realise that the market is always there, that there is always another trade, that there is no need to rush. In fact, time to trade properly.

If you can acquire that mindset before retirement then it's a great help also.

Welcome back :)

OK, trading has been in the back of my mind since '06.

What stopped me trading was the realisation (earned for a few hundred £) that it is essentially a profession and needs professional skills, not wild hunches.

I will be getting back in the water very slowly but I hope surely.

In the interim I think that the material that I learned about TA etc has been maturing in the back of my mind so it certainly has not been wasted.

ok, so basically you felt you were sinking, so got out of the water...
i hope this second attempt leads to some nice swimming then :D

I can't wait to retire... I've probably got another 40 years to go by the time (or if) I get there! I wonder what the trading world will be like in 40 years...

Good luck.

Nothing will change in 40 years. People will continue to buy high sell low and then wonder why they lose.
