32 out of 50 states have seen a major rise in entrepreneurship.

No jobs = Self employed

The US Economy is so lousy that people can't find a job and therefore have no choice but to employ themselves. That's how I interpret the stats. I recall hearing a similar story about the rise in young entrepreneurs in Spain. This is also the consequence of the Government raising the cost of labour through idiotic laws like the minimum wage. Employing yourself is one way around that obstacle.

That, and they're just plain stupid

This isn't Europe, we can't all be feckless oafs leeching off a socialist government. Free housing, free health care and what's next why bother being entrepreneurial when the government will spend itself into oblivion paying for all that. America's debt is from taking care of the world because everyone else is too lazy, broke and small to do anything worth while. The only thing keeping the eurozone afloat is Germany. The pound has fallen more than 25% since 2008. Talk about a lousy economy. I hope none of you are using IBMs, HPs, anything from Microsoft or Apple to type your messages here. They are all American companies. Perhaps you should buy a British made computer. What's that you say, all the biggest companies are American, German or Chinese. Ahh too bad about your flailing economy of $2.5 trillion.

@hhiusa :I hope you didn’t take offence by what I wrote. I was being critical of all governments who have waged a war against employers. Some would argue that the Government has raised working standards and I would agree. The cost of that has been more and more people have to employ themselves. The Government can’t force you to pay yourself a higher wage... you take what you can get. I would like to see how Government apologists would argue that one!

The UK is part of the continent of Europe. Whats stupid is using American companies products to bash Americans. Stop using anything from American then. You can't because that would mean living in the stone age.

food stamps do not cover everything and not indefinitely. Californians don't care about the rest of the anyway. Paying taxes so that someone can have free housing. How ridiculous.

what good is Internet security if the American government can just apply pressure to the government to release the information like they did with Switzerland and the 4300 accounts they turned over. only poor Americans don't have good Internet security. Since we are not socialist we don't provide the service free.

Barracuda, Cisco and even my brokerage firm offers these services. All American companies.:-0

Americans

How long have we got.

Well that's funny coming from the only first world country to have a reigning monarchy. No matter how screwed up it may be in the US, this isn't the middle ages and I prefer not to live somewhere where decision are made a monarch in the triple digits age range. That would be like giving my grandmother to power to wage war. Nothing wrong with monarchies as long as they remain on side lines for photo-ops and give the masses something to cheer for.

You will keep prattling on about the wonders of America and Americans. 'Course, the more you try to push that down people's throats the more they want to kick you in the balls.

Small wonder, then, how America is viewed in the world when it should be much admired and respected.

The queen does indeed have power. She has the power of royal ascent. All bills passed in parliament must be accepted by her. While she has never prevented a bill from passing, it is still within her to power to do so.

Core blimey

I guess we have the makings of a thread to keep us going through the weekend :)

Before I knock off to bed;

Our Queen and the Royal family rocks and may she long live and reign in good health

Mr HiH if I were you I'd stick to what you know. Money!

Because you have no heart and I gotta say this, you are one real sick miserable ****er.

However, I never bear grudges and think we could become good friends. (y)
