ADX indicator settings , pls. advise..

Hi,

Can somebody pls. tell me if the ADX settings that i've applied to Alpari MT4 chart for 15 min. GBPJPY (Attachment - Alpari ADX) is 'correct' in relation to the sample chart (Attachment - sample ADX) ?

My ADX lines seem to be more erratic than the sample chart.

I've set my ADX to 14 periods & applied to 'CLOSE'.

I want my ADX lines to look very similar to sample chart taken from

As you know the Directional Movement Index is composed of ADX (avg. directional movement index) & DI+ and DI- lines.

Pls. advise.

It says GBP/USD...

I read somewhere that it is dangerous to base trades purely on the ADX. Use the info to help confirm a trade eg the indicator > 30 to ensure enough volatility, the DI+ > DI- to confirm bullish tendencies.

But from the look of the my chart & that of sample settings, does it look OK ?
My lines seem to be more erratic.

Er. Different time frames. No info on the setting for the indicator on one.
