Bad morning. Bumped out of five positions - all at a loss.

So far this year I seem well out of kilter. The market's doing the Hokey Cokey with put your left leg in, your left leg out and shake it all about, but I'm the guy who's got his legs all mixed up

As someone might say "if it wasn't so serious it would be funny".

Hope you're all doing better.

good trading

I am also having a bad Jan. Any profit I have made have been eaten up in transaction costs. I net out about GBP200 up before running costs.
Makes it even harder when you sit opposite someone doing rather well so far.

Yep my profit for all of Jan stands at a whopping £181

Maybe time for a holiday.

are you relying on those long candles again jon? ;)

sorry to hear about it though. im currently on a break from trading, probably until feb/march as i cant devote enough time to it.

just a few EOD trades flying around from time to time. nothing much.

your luck will change soon.

here, have a sand-wedge :)

Commiserations on your losses. Perhaps a little less time on the golf and race course and a little more on the charts may be called for.

In the meantime I could spare a bowl of rice and a candle to light your darkness.

I just thought of something I did for my son once. He was just a toddler, and it was his birthday. He had a helium balloon and it got away from him, hit something sharp, and it popped. He ran off to his bedroom to squall about it.
I went in there and said, "Johnny, I'll sing a song to cheer you up." So I started singing,
"All around the mullberry bush
The monkey chased the weasle
The monkey thought it was all in good fun
POP....Oh, I'm sorry."

Believe it or not, that gave him a good laugh and he rejoined his party.

Oh, darn! My little joke got spoiled. The link to the following song wouldn't work. I was going to offer you music to soothe your soul. Anyway, here's the lyrics:

Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out
(Jimmie Cox)

Once I lived the life
of a millionaire
Spending my money
Oh I didn't care
Taking my friends out
For a mighty good time
Oh we'd drink that good gin
Champagne and wine

But oh just as soon
As my money got low
I couldn't find nobody
And I had no place to go
And if I ever get my hands
On a dollar again
I'm gonna hold on
Till the eagle wins
Cause I found out

Nobody wants you
When you're down and out
Nobody wants you
When you're down and out

Lord have mercy

Yeah, yeah, now listen
Now in your pocket
There's not one penny
And all of them good friends
You found out you haven't got any
Nobody come around
But the landlord and the taxman
Your ex-wife who says
She wants more alimony
Then there's a knock on the door
And it's a woman you don't know
Says she's having your baby
She'll walk on in

But oh just as soon
as the money roll in
Here they all come sayings
That they're you're long lost friends
But if I ever get my hands
On a dollar again
I believe, I believe I'll hold on
Till the eagle wins
Cause I found out

Nobody wants you
When you're down and out
Nobody wants you
When you're down and out

Nobody wants you
When you're down and out
Nobody wants you
When you're down and out

Nobody wants you
When you're down and out
Nobody wants you
When you're down and out

Nobody wants you
When you're down and out
Nobody, nobody, nobody

Thanks guys,

A bit of shared experience, a bit of a laugh and a song to sing along to. Good for the inner soul.

So far as trading's concerned, never been down and out, gene, although down and nearly out a couple of times years ago. Mind you, I have had the priceless advantage of not having to do it for a living so could and can always take it or leave it as I fancy. Not an option for those of you doing this as a full time enterprise and you have my admiration, both for your courage and for your discipline in sticking at it when it REALLY matters.

good trading
