Excalibur V 3
I have combined a well known indicator with some modifications, and programmed an EA that has show very good results since running it “live” starting October 10. 2008. I do not believe in back testing any EA.
Excalibur V 3 has built in e-mail alerts and is fully automated. It will trade all currencies but has been tested only on the following since I began it live on a “demo “ account.

EUR/USD, USD/CHF, USD/JPY, EUR/JPY, GBP/USD, EUR/CHF, AUD/USD, USD/CAD, NZD/USD, and EUR/CAD.

Excalibur V 3 is designed to run in a “Stealth” mode and not allow the broker to see the stoploss , as determined by the EA, and not allow the broker time to set up any script in an attempt to close down a trade in their favor and execute a loss on your side.

There is a drawdown and it does not perform well on any account under $3,000.00.

Although it will run on any account it is currently running live on a demo “mini” account with a balance of $3,000.00.

I am looking for members that are willing to set it up on a demo account and monitor the results.

Excalibur V 3 will write to a account summary file written into the /files folder/ as (account#)_Summary.txt file and save all trading results so we can compare different brokers and results.

I would like to see the (account#)_Summary.txt file posted in this forum and the brokers name so we can compare results from different brokers.

Please contact me if you are interested in this project.

Excalibur_Filters.ex4 This file goes into the /indicators folder and Excalibur V3 uses it to determine its trades. You do not need to attach it to any chart.

Excalibur_V3.ex4 is the Excalibur V3 EA and goes into the /experts folder. It can be used on any currency and work best so far with a 15 m time frame.

SummaryReportInPoints.ex4 goes into the /experts folder also and has to be placed on any chart other than one you are attempting to trade on. You can open as an example tow EUR/USD charts and place this file on one and the Excalibur_V3 on the other. This EA will write a summary file to your /files folder and update this file every time a trade is closed keeping tack of all losses and wins. We need this file posted at the end of the week so we can see the results from different brokers. It would also be interesting if some members used different time frames so we could compare the results. When posting the summary file located in the files folder please state the time frame and broker you are using. It will be interesting to see the results of other time frames other than the recommended 15m

Excalibur V3 also has a full e-mail alert feature, currently disabled for this part of beta testing but will be enabled once we have test this function a bit later.

Excalibur V3 has an expiry date and will expire on a monthly basis. I will update Excalibur V3 on a regular basis and upload the newest version far before the current on ever expires.

Excalibur V3 uses several internal indicators to make its trade decisions. The original indicator has done nothing but make a profit for the past year but had to be traded manually. Excalibur V3 was designed to attempt to make this an automated trading indicator so that the trade does not have to sit in front of the computer every day.

The Excalibur_Filters.ex4 can be attached to a chart on it's own and traded manually when it gives a trade signal but nothing is more boring that waiting for such signals.

Excalibur_V3 determines its trade signals using several indicators working with one another to determine its trade signals.

Excalibur V3 has been beta tester fro the past five weeks on other forums and the results have been overwhelming.

To Success
Bernard

Hi Bernard,

The concept sounds intriguing.

I think, however, that any interested party should take a closer look at the number of trades being made. In the one week of running this live, you have made 404 trades, approx 80 per day!! You do not say whether brokerage charges have been accounted for in the final figures quoted. Obviously, slippage will vary according to the pair traded.

This may be a great system but, a lot of systems are doing very well with the current volatility on the forex market. How would it fare in consolidating markets? Without adequate back testing, perhaps over a 5 year period, the system cannot be considered to have been adequately tested.

some positive comments, please!

hi, 10kloser,

since I am one of the newbies and you are a senior you might have the gracious audacity of enlightening us pointing toward the right direction.
Historically, zesty comments do not stick very well ...

Issues which need resolving:
1.
Last point of the excalibur is wobbling.
Can anyone fix that?
Thank you very much

2.
Add the ability to phase shift of the regular moving average.

3.
Add volume or amplitude to the variable.
-----------------------------------------
4.
Create different version of .....
and ability to add high and low percentage bands

Finally..
5.
Whoever programmed the filter:
What is the repaint area in terms of length of this indicator:
i.e.
If length of snake moving average is set to 20, what is the repaint area?
is it 10 or 20?

email is m3dzone at hotmail dot com
thank you

Is that because they don't give you the results you expect?

This is a serious case of spam. Nobody in their right mind would risk cash on a system that's been tested for only a few weeks.

No of no spammer that gives away the program free.
It has been back tested over a period of five years and works fine. If any trader ever invested in a live account from back testing figures they deserve to be on the wrong side.

The whole idea of beta testing is to have a lot of people seeing how any Ea performs with forward testing.

Seems odd or perhaps what can be expected to have unprofessional remarks on a program that is free and not take the time to get involved without putting in any effort other than posting negative remarks on something they have not taken any time in looking into.

There are currently over 1,000 beta testers using this EA and the posting have been remarkable and fully supportive.

Wonder why I moved the entire support forum to a place where I have time to deal with people that get involved whole heartedly in something rather than pick apart something they know nothing about.

Excalibur is no longer supported here so if the moderator wished to remove this thread i have absolutly no problem and would rather spend my time working with people that understand what a beat test is.
:(

What a waste of time here.

So which is it?

I have no problem with people giving out an EA to test - but your original post indicated you have a successful system.

Now you are backtracking.

However I applaud your generosity and I hope your EA works out for you.

do you have posted the filters file
I would like to test this for you

Oh, dear. Look at all the veterans piling in. 1 posters, 4 posters, :D

Time frame best to use and tested on was 15 m chart. Will work on any currency.
Please remember to upload your results from the SummaryReportInPoints file located and written to the /files folder
I am also working on a re write to take advantage of the swap rates so that they are in our favor.
I've been programing EA's for some time in MetaTrader MQL4 but am just getting started with Strategy Builder. It looks like a very useful tool but I have a question about the historical data:
There is a warning on the SB Data Download page that your local time should math the the data server GMT time of +2 to avoid errors. My question is why does the local time make any difference in backtesting since the broker's server could be far removed from his actual business address. My broker's address is on the US east coast but his server is in the GMT + 2 timezone.
