So, another year passes.
How was it for you?
If you are an experienced trader, did you do well?
Did you outperform the "average", the SP500, or DJ30?

If a newbie trader, have you settled on a style? Have you gained a stable, and consistent, and confident trading style?
What key element did you learn this year?

Any key events that blind-sided you?
Any events that fell in your favour?

Was a particular part of the year better than others?

Made a profit, so certainly outperformed the FTSE100. But I got lost for several months, which taught (or re-taught) me some hard lessons -
* there's no harm keeping trades small
* don't fight the trend
* if the trend isn't obvious, it isn't a trend.

certainly outperformed the indices, but then outperforming the FTSE wouldn't have been difficult. But I could have done a lot better..
lesson for me was not investing according to the plan I'd set and the capital I had available. too cautious. otherwise it would have been a tremendous year.
I had a baby girl last December, I blame the thought of parenthood and not wanting to lose it..but with it brings a legacy I intend to leave
looking forward to next year, her ISA will be in good hands

2015 was a great year and I made at least 25% on my capital every single month (including December and I'm closed for the year).

Hard to believe I know and I hesitated a long time before posting this but hey, it can be done...

Do you have any verification to that effect?

Is that compounded? at that monthly compounded rate...you will be like...very rich... ....are you...like...very rich now...

I've been paper trading/studying the market for the Longest time (years) -- I'm ready to enter the real game in 2016 :devilish:

Scientific Evidence That Self-Promoters Underestimate How Annoying They Are

Obviously I do but I'm not in the least concerned whether you believe me or not. The title of this thread was not 'Prove your 2015 returns'.

I've actually had my performance publicly shown by my broker for the last few months and have made over 25% on my capital every month. This is real money trading with an over $100k account.

And no, I am not going to give a link!

I don't have to prove it to anyone here - only to my clients...

if you do not need to prove it to anyone but your client, why are you boasting about it here?

Boasting without verification is absolutely meaningless.

14.55 * $100,000 = $1,455,000.

That is apples an oranges. You do not need to read the entire book because you can see the book and you know you are actually getting a book, when you buy it.

You are not selling anything tangible. They are completely unrelated. If I was being propositioned by a trader, I would want to see his track record in the form of financial statements showing trade for trade how he made those spectacular returns. Revealing the financial statements would not reveal his "secret formula" so to speak. If he cannot do that than he is a snake oil salesman.

Maybe you will be the next Shkreli or Madoff.
Well, there is the ‘wing-man’ solution – finding someone else to sing your praises. Other than that the best strategy, when you feel the urge to brag, is to keep your lips zipped. People will be much more impressed if they hear about your triumphs from other sources, and they will be doubly impressed that you didn’t bring it up yourself.

2015 was a decent year. It could've been better, certainly. I made some profit, but I also made some mistakes. Ha, I just hope I learned from them.

This is a very childish attack ( was not boasting) and I suggest you examine your own skepticism and negative attitudes towards success - no doubt they affect your own trading results.

And yes, it is possible to make over a million a year trading but I don't want the hassle of so much money - I already have everything I want and live in a beautiful place and never need to work again. I actually drive an old rented Skoda and am not interested in having an excess...

If you don't believe that it's possible to be a very successful trader, why do you trade and why are you here? Is it just to share the misery of failure?

This is exactly why I hesitated to post my results and this is the last time I will respond to you.

I stared the year with £1,000. Have withdrawn £124 every month (that's the repayment on my car), and my account now stands at £2049. Can't be arsed with all the math, but i'm pretty pleased with that.

Most importantly, i made it through 12 months without breaking my risk management rules.

That is a major fallacy of equivocation. Just because I do not believe you, does not mean that I do not believe I can be successful. I am not the one making such claims without proof. You are extremely defensive for someone supposedly so successful. It is not a childish attack. You claim to have done it but refuse to show any proof.

Whenever someone achieves a feat like that they are always more than willing to show proof of their achievement. It is questionable at best, that you do not furnish proof.

I concur with @itspossible.

At least @ffsear gave some proof.

you were the 3rd person to respond and the original post only asked how was it for you, you decided to share with us the results. you can't blame hhiusa for picking up on your claims

The other main lesson from 2015 for me would have to be - when you see the signal, take the trade.

I see your account was standing at 3700 pounds in July did you withdraw or lose them ?

Losses, August - Oct when the Dax nose dived below 10,000. Also Started trading FX for a bit that time and picked up a habit of selling the Eur at daily lows. Was convinced the EURGBP was gonna break and stay below the .7000 mark (which it did, but not for long.)

edit: There was also a fat finger trade where I sold 45 DAX instead of 4. Lost £380 on that.

BTW one of your screenshots at the other thread is showing your full account # ...

Cheers, don't think anyone could do anything with it though. (although I bet @Pat Riley and his imaginary friends tried) Plus wanted to prove its not a demo.
