Who wants a T2W Chatroom ?

For the luddites and chat room virgins among us (both in my case!), would someone care to outline:
A) the advantages of a chat room - i.e. what can be done / achieved there that can't be achieved on the ordinary boards?
B) what the focus and purpose of the room would be, i.e. would it be restricted to trading or even a particular type of trading?
C) what skills and equipment one needs to join, i.e. I'm a very slow one fingered typist (therefore not really a typist at all) - would this be a problem?
Cheers,
Tim.

and would I be able to continue to get away with derailing the issues and going off-topic ?

Well just my opinion but to keep the focus of the chat you could split the chatroom into smaller rooms by each different type of market (e.g. forex room, commodities room, indices room, equities room...etc).

Yes you could continue to derail conversations- very effectively in chat i imagine!

A- advantages- talk to each other in real time instead of having to wait for messages to be pasted back and forth. Have a 'normal' conversation via microphone instead of typing. Get away with saying things you would not normally type as there won't be any incriminating evidence left behind on a voice chat.

B- I imagine it will be a general room where anything can be talked about, whether it be the saga of Spanish89, TRO's "never lose again" debacle, or specific ways of trading, etc. It wouldn't be good if it got hijacked by one particular method/person though. This could be stopped in Paltalk since moderators have the ability to kick people out the room for misbehaviour!

C- You only need to download Paltalk from their website. That's it. If you want to voice chat you will need a microphone too- which is incredibly easy- just plug it in and go. It really is quite easy to use. Typing slow is not a problem-- get a mic instead :)- a lot of others there probably can't type fast also.

you dont even need a mic in some cases just stick in some headphones :-0 ive forgotten which ear piece you talk into..... right i think :smart:

arghhhhhhhh not the whole race, religion thing again..... lets take the conversation back to strip trading ;) ;) what colour short shorts are you wearing :p

Chatroom, eh? Im assuming I make any cheques out to Jayjay, but does anyone know the address to send it? :)

yes, i like to span my arguments across several threads :)

but on a serious note, I'm wearing dark blue boxer shorts

i'm wearing my bridget jones knickers today- but i promise i'll get changed before coming on webcam

If T2W can't provide a chatroom one could always defect to the opposition, not mentioning any names like Tr****sl********y.

IMO its not really about t2w or TL, its about a group of people who are members of a website using some initiative and setting up a specialist chat facility that would be more reliable and more sophisticated than anything the original website would be capable of installing.

This is a democracy after all, I dont think it requires sharkys permission either for a trading chat group to be set up on paltalk. the rooms name doesnt need to even mention t2w - it could be called, i dont know, donkey kong country!!

ok, i'll email the donkey kong country website and see if they have any issues with this....back in a bit

we can have webcams in paltalk too-- we can do a 'strip-trade- competition

Now we're definitely talking :)

Phil, I know, but one nice thing to have it here is that then one doesn't have have to be in so many places at the same time, that to me would be one huge advantage.
One could then still pop into other places, but have one main place here kinda.

Tim, think Donna explained perfectly what advantages a chat would have. :)

RExile, I know you're just DYING for video to see me trading in my bathrobe or, next step if I lose trades, without, haha.

Btw, what would be nice is having sthg here where you do not have to download anything which is the only way things work anyway for your friendly Mac users like myself. Would that make that a Java application then I believe ?

Yeah java application would be pretty cool and keep it inhouse within T2W too.
