WS: quick question. What is a gap fill level? Is it yesterday's close? I am looking at DAX chart and yesterday it was at 5720/1ish at 5PM UK time. I thought german markets close earlier than UK, so this can't be the close of yesterday right?

Eitherway it goes, I am trying out WS's hedging strategy. Should be able to profit from breakout in either direction.

I've a feeling the market is gradually reacting less and less euphorically to positive economic news. So while the jobless figures will probably surprise on the upside as usual, it could be a fairly small jump up. If that plays out, i'll be looking for a short ahead of the open for a quick gap fill.

Since you asked!

potential scenario

good economic news -
1. market rallies initially due to excitement
2. time lag ........causes dollar to rally and euro/gbp falls
3. commodities get pressured as dollar goes up
4. market gets hammered as inverse relationship between dollar and market comes back into play

BP reached it's resistance level at or around 550-555 level .............which coincides with oil reaching resistance @ 72.7 ( I am shorting oil at present target 72.2 )

Barclays reached resistance ................390 is crucial resistance level

Marks and sparks showing signs of exhaustion @ 375

my market leading stocks showing signs of topping

taken profit on oil short ............

a bit risky to have short before data
