cable.the trend is upwards
hourly..55 by 1 close...to show the trend.some prev res shown

now we go to the hilo plot to see where we can find supp for this uptrend
there is a cluster of resistance at 5730.which sould be support.also 5675 when it got shot on thursday pm
so 5675-5730 is the major supp
any trend change,then look to 5675-5730 to act as resistance

looking at eurusd..thinking it could give us some idea of what might happen on friday for non farm payrolls.eurusd has broken out,so looking at previous resistance that might act as support
chart is 10 min data input.19 pips by 1 reversal..hilo plot
res areas showing up nicely at 1.3888 and support at 1.3832
say between 1.3820 and 1.3890 is the support for this latest upmove.so,if we get a retarce back into this zone,then watch to see if it acts as a resistance.
market,thinking dollar has strength
imho
btw..3920 is the 50% retrace on the pole..the latest upthrust column

32 pips by 1 reversal
above 1.4000-1.4020 area is resistance
supports at 1.3880../previous res
1.3856 area support
and 1.3820 area..a prev res,that acted as support
there are no real clues on this chart about future direction..it is rangebound now

If it can move higher then FTSE can move higher as it is a barometer of risk

I think you should re-phrase the question to;

Do you think QE 2 is priced in to the market already?

Answer = Yes

but given the ability for the market to float up on light volume then 5800 looks inevitable

in order for us to push higher we need to look at the following factors

1. US dollar - if it keeps getting crushed then we move higher as commodities inflate and move higher - FTSE is heavily weighted toward commods

2. Oil - if we break $84.5 decisively and push higher the oil stocks will follow

3. Gold, coper, silver - these need to move higher based on fundamentals and not just cheap dollar in order to sustain the mining sector.

4. one must follow risk FX ........wax on , wax off, risk on , risk off !!
I usually follow eur/jpy and aus/usd as a risk barometer , if these two pair move higher then FTSE 100 will follow
