ES tonight

fekkit

went to bed not feeling well, but couldn't really settle, so I've come downstairs to check how the markets finished.
The yellow diamond that's circled is the point when I gave up waiting for a re-cross into the LKZ and I went to bed

Looks like I missed a nice move, if only I'd hung on in for another half hour.

Ah well, the market's not going anywhere, it'll still be here tomorrow ......

nice start

i must admit, when i put the lines on the chart earlier, i was a bit skeptical about today's set-up, the lines didn't seem to relate to any real resistance.

but this is not bad for a start to tonight's action !!! how's that for accuracy ? :innocent:

I guess its now building for a potential reversal entry, accordng to your strat?

I guess its now building for a potential reversal entry, accordng to your strat?

yes :)

but with a cautionary proviso -

price is still sitting above the Market profile Value Area High at 823.5
That can act as a huge magnet, and then price could get sucked all the way down to the MPVALow at 811.5

but for now, my Long target is 833, the upper band of the 15min keltner channel

moved exit Stop to 832

02:08hrs update: well just got stopped out at 832, but have to be happy with 8 points plus change on a long in a bear market.

that's all folks, 12 hour drive to phuket ahead now, see youse next week, have a good weekend.

a quick note on my abbreviations/acronyms

HKZ = Higher Kill Zone
comprising of
BOL: BreakOut Long
RS: Reversal Short

LKZ = Lower Kill Zone
comprising of
RL: Reversal Long
BDS: BreakDown Short

An old joke we used to tell in the Army: "TLA's are forbidden"

review of 23 feb

i just can't understand how people keep trying to go Long in the environment.
Perhaps they know better than me, and I'll be happy to admit it when they prove so, but for me, this market is strong in only one direction.
trying to pick the bottom here is a mugs game imho.

4 trades last night off this method
the first (purple) as a Reversal Short worth (+1 +2 +18) net +21
the second (blue) was VAH to VAL worth (+1 +2 +11) net +14
the third (green) was from BreakDown Short worth (+1 +2 -4) net -1
the fourth (orange) was again from BDS worth (+1 +2 +11) net +14,
(exited at Close of Day)

so net +48 on the day, a day that was screaming "SHORT"

ESH9 Daily set up for 24 feb

looking for a nice climb to 762 overnight,
more or less a VAL-VAH move, (also a 50% retracement from yesterdays hi-lo)
then will look to Short from that area in RTH session

update on weekly

if I'm right about continuation to downside, weekly chart suggest big sell off to come from 741
but possible that if price does close the VAL-VAH gap and drifts up to low 760s, a short term Long could be in order if there is sufficient demand....
