They all play games, they hold our tickets, they freeze the platforms, they reject trades, they slip us to high heaven.....why do we bother with them? Because we want the tax free, but are paying more in the end?
 
Unfortunately Its one of those lessons that people need to learn for themselves.

Use them if they work for you.

If they don't use a proper broker. This is likely to apply to most people.

If you really want the wrapper and can handle the increased cost, use ibetfinancials.

What you shouldn't do is cry like a pussy because CMC won't be what you want them to be.

If I were to start a bucketshop spreadbetting company you will be the first client I call on to open an account. In fact I'd love to have thousands of clients like you. I could lift pips from your trades all day long and still, because it's tax-free or because you are just plain stubborn (I could care less which it is), you keep coming back like a loyal, albeit disgruntled, customer. Congrats to you and the many others like you.

Yes close your spreadbet accounts, what are you waiting for? I learned a long time ago that the entire industry exists to rip you off. Like I said what's keeping you from doing it?

They do rip you off, of that I am certain.

At the same time, they do serve a purpose and I think it is quite possible under certain circumstances to use them profitably.

One would be well advised to be on one's guard when doing so, however.
