I trade SG covered warrants with reasonable success.
I like the fixed risk and uncapped potential reward. Obviously there is far less flexibility than with options but still... very surprised nobody has posted in here for years!

I have no clude what an SG covered warrant is, but I agree the forums here are a bit DEAD.

I guess we missed the "breakout" a few years ago!

I trade mini-s&p, gold, mini-dow, mini-nasdaq, Euro futures and a few stocks/options.
Send me a private message if you want to chat...I'm on every day so I'm always available to message back.

Also, I post in a thread in the metals area called "Gold calls" it's an awesome thread that is actice everyday (high volume!).

I suspect that for most members of a forum titled "Day Trading and Forex", covered warrants are a sideshow. I found it today from a Google Alert. The plan is to trawl the fora and lurk a while to see if I can pick up some tips which can be applied to covered warrants. I have used the latter for several years on a slightly longer term basis, usually weeks and months.

I agree ! This forum is still dead 9 years on. That's because the good traders were hassled out of here and also got banned because they retaliated against mobsters!
They should have banned the mobsters instead! We did say this would happen because the moderators banned the wrong people! They should have banned the mobsters!!

Ok. I will answer your question on Covered Warrants. Covered warrants are long term Options that can be bought or sold. Normal Warrants can only be bought.
People use them mainly to hedge their stock holding .
Warrants can have a life time of many years. They are also used by companies like Banks to hold on to their best branch managers. They offer these warrants as gifts that can be cashed for example in 5 years time.
So, let's say stock ABC is currently valued at 400p. The company Abc will offer them as gift to their Staff / manager at 600p For free!
The staff will stay longer in their jobs and loose interest in leaving the company! The staff can sell those covered warrants when ABC has passed OVER the 600p strike price to the public or to ABC and keep the whole profit Without having to give ABC 400p!
The staff or manager can still sell them and stay in their job with ABC! It can also be seen as loyalty bonus.

I hope it makes sense?:D

Nonsense.

I think your best bet is run along before you get booted.
Just trying to help.

Hi Larry, just thought I'd chime in. How's your application to become a moderator progressing, all good I hope. And have negotiations to purchase T2W got off the ground yet? I'm sure you'll turn this place round when you're at the helm. Oh yeah, I've not forgot our £2K bet either - small change for you I'm sure.(y)

I wanted to see if you had the brains to understand what I was saying?,(y)

Also, I wanted to see if you deserved any more favours from me. I have now seen from your posts that you are not worthy of any favours from me! :D

Who needs lesson from you anyway ? You can't even trade yourself. It would be blind leading the non-blind.

i would need your bank details to transfer the dosh.

Make sure you still have a bank account for the next 3 yrs and that you have not gone bankrupt ! :cheesy:

I'd be suprised if your still around in 3 weeks, never mind 3 years...

Well, what an earth are you doing on here then? Why don't you just trot off and leave us in peace.

How Long Larry?
