Just trying to pick all your wise and learned brains :smart:

My personal favourites are MACD, Bollinger and DM, though there are plenty of limitations, so any suggestions that could plug any holes would be most welcome.

Many thanks in advance.

The best three indicators in the order of importance are:

(1) Price

(2) Price

(3) Price

I still like a couple of moving averages. Selecting them is an art just like choosing a timeframe where price will tell you as much as possible.

Basically they're trailing value so they tell you where other people think it might be worth a punt (or two).

Ignore all the arrows. I've been automating things and want to see how the choices play out.

Well I personally prefer Bollinger bands because they are in real meaning a vivid depiction of the volatility that subsists in the market for any particular stock. As such, they permit the depositor the prospect to recognize periods where opportunities for the undertaking of victorious positions can arise.
When used in combination with other indicators, the information and use of Bollinger bands can really get better any individuals trading performance.

10 and 30 EMA which help me put price in perspective or context.

Not to be used as alerts or triggers but simply as a guideline.

But ultimately yes....PRICE

How about EQUITY, if you consider balance important?

The new buzz around the block is splines. Their mathmatical complexity is way beyond my limited knowledge but the involved formulas don't half look impressive.
Whether they deliver anything useful is another matter entirely ??

Nope, can't see that word on my IG platform, only see the word Balance and a figure next to it. Hopefully it'll be 5 digits long the end of April. Always start the month with 3 digits:)

you must be taking a large risk % wize?

Thank Christ for that. I saw 6 figures at first - can't cope with someone doing that!

Sorry bud, edited it to say five digits not 6. But yes, starting the month in the low hundreds, hope to finish it in the thousands. As to "risk" no I don't think so, I'm quite conservative in my approach ( I think, not much to compare it to other than most of you guys).
Hope to take 200-300 pips out of the market on a day trading basis, gonna push myself from May onwards (by compounding/doing more screen time), hopefully then I'll hit the year on year target I've set myself.

What kind of trading do you do? I could hope to match 2-300 pips per day consistently. A good day for me is 100, but i'm scalping so maybe that's different? Keep it up.

TBH I'm not sure how to define/label my style, or lack of it. Trade mainly 4 "indices"; ftse, wall st, gold, light crude. As for forex I only really trade cable. Having decided this has to be my new career I put in a lot of screen time. Longest I'm in a trade would be for example "buying" wall st daily cash as of 1.35 this afternoon.
