When to trade?

Hi,

I posted this in the forex thread but since I'm a newbie thought it best to post here...

Hi,

I've been doing extensive reading and after trading a demo account using pocrels excellent pinbar system, ive decided to demo some more!!! (want to make sure I'm 100% ready before I stump up real money)

Anyway I've been on holiday and traded between 9-4:30 as this seems to be a great time and a tine frame recommended by many people.

My question is when I go back to work I work these hours and don't arrive home until 6pm, I understand that the forex markets are 24 hours but are they liquid enough after 6 or 7pm uk time?

I currently trade the major pairs, gold, Brent, wti and major indicies.

Any advise would be great.

Thanks
Paul

they're just ok during the evening hours UK time, seems to just trade is a "trending range", so yea it goes whatever in a direction but there're lots of chops and no really big moves. or it just sits in a range and mocks you.

good for scalping 1 - 2 pips a trade most of the time

i daytrade the Eur/Usd during the daytime hours of NZ (which is evening UK)

maybe try a timeframe such as 4 hour candles that way you can just put positions on whenever rather than sit at the screen

This is my first post - for what it's worth...

I have found that I have to get a feel for market conditions before I start trading in any time frame. I like trading reversal strategies in slow-time markets and momentum and breakout strategies in more active markets.

I totally concur with what enragedcow said about scalping... its tough to look for big pips during slow market conditions - just go for the easy and consistent money!

I think position trading is the best way to trade the Forex market, therefore it doesn't matter what time you trade! What a simple answer to your worries!

Im in Australia man and trade around the clock, in syaing that, any time i find can be a good time to trade. You'll be probably struggling on the weekends though ;)
