want to meet other traders trading in south west london

Thank you for your comments. I used to trade at home for 11 hours a day before I owned the internet cafe and found it a very very loney job. I am hoping other people who are suffering from the same problems will come and trade alongside me so we can offer each other help and advice!

Also, as a ex-computer programmer I am well aware of security issues!

This is one of the funniest threads I've read on T2W for the longest while....Let me get this straight....

I come and trade with you and we work ideas together or you take my ideas. For this I have to buy Internet time and my own COFFEE !! plus I have to drive to Hammersmith !!

Seriously that really is quite funny. Expect a full cafe monday mate with an offer like that. It's obviously too good to refuse.

Oh what a cynic
Maybe he'll get a visit from S89 who'll solve all his trading problems for him.........

Perhaps it's one of those bring your own flask coffee mornings.

Sorry cassam, you must think we're all a bunch of nasty petty minded tight fisted scum bags.

You'd be quite right :devilish:

Except me , of course

P.S. It is possible cassam has put forward what seemed a perfectly genuine unselfish suggestion.
Let's give him the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks Lightning for merging and for being magnanimous enough to allow this guy's advert to stand.
If I'm ever in Hammersmith in the morning (I trade for my living in the afternoon) I'll pop in to see him and buy him a coffee :)

Your Generosity knows no bounds Mr Charts.

I think the thread starter (assuming he is genuine) hasnt done a good job of marketing his idea by putting it under 'meetup and socials'.

The idea of a 'Pay as you go' shared trading room isnt a bad one.

Leaving the house and going to trade somewhere else on an adhoc basis has the advantage of alievating home trader boredom without commiting to a pay monthly office space.

There is some demand for this idea as every few months you get posters on Trade2win looking to setup or share a trading room.

I agree a pay as you go trading room isn't a bad one. But it's all about the environment.

Have you ever been to an Internet Cafe ??

I have and it's not somewhere I would want to spend a great deal of time.

ALL of the internet cafe's I have been to seem to have turned in to some kind of West African scam centre. On top of that I would call in to question 90% of the customers legal status in this country. I.e If they aren't illegal immigrants I'm Paul Mcartney

Plus the real killer, the coffee often tastes like dishwater !

I would prefer using the 53 bus as a part time office. But hey that's just me.

reply to postings

It looks like it was a mistake for me to do this posting. First few threads were about me setting this whole thing up for spamming passwords and the next few about people wanting me to give food and coffee away for free.
Think about it, if I gave food and coffee free to everyone then the internet cafe will go bankrupt!

It was just an idea that I had to make trading a less lonely occupation!

All done and with minimal editing and loss of posts

...and no bun fighting ...free or not free lol

The problem I have here me old mucker is that you offered a meet up to socialise in a place that you profit from. This I have an issue with as you benefit in its whole entirety.

If you had of made your first two posts/threads an advert or simply introduced yourself first, you would have had a different response.

There are many meetups that go on in your area that you could attend to without anybody in the group profiting, they're usually held in public places, not private business's where the owner is getting money for their attendance.

I fully understand that you would go bust if you gave away free tea and coffee ect but surely you wouldn't go bust giving to the people you wanted to meetup with and learn trading from, I haven't gone bust with all the people that come to my place for free tea/coffee, maybe I should start charging them. One penny a tea bag.

It would be a jesture (at least) that if you did want to meet up with like minded people to actually talk shop with them to at least make it cost price, even this I personally still have a problem with. Probably safe to say that if you want to meet up with others its always a good idea to do it on mutual ground.

For these reasons this whole thing reeks of blatant avertising to drum up business, nothing wrong with that, its just the way that some go about it.

Well if it is a blatant way to drum up business it's a pretty poor effort. How many traders from far and wide will suddenly descend upon Hammersmith - maybe a handful?

I reckon he's a little naive but genuine. Can't see how making a cappuccino one minute and the next buying 10 contracts of ES is gonna work though.

I agree, I dont doubt his genuinity, its the fact of trading in an environment where the public can eyeball your account and what your doing. Hardly safe in any town. Not only does it provide massive security risks but I also wouldn't want strangers peering over my shoulder in a public arena just so I can have a posh coffee and with the privilage of paying for it. I'd rather just have people come over to my place in the privacy of an office...and the coffee's free (although not for me, but I can always spare £3.50 for a jar of Fresco's own brand). It would cost me more than that in petrol to start the car.

It of course would be a different story if the meeting/social event was held out back away from preying eyes.
