Ukraine invasion

Some Russians are against the war.

Finally, Russia presented its evidence:
Russian ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said ...
There was “proof that explosives had been planted” near the pipeline during a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) exercise in the summer of 2022, he said, referring to a recent United States news report by reporter Seymour Hersh claiming Washington was involved.

So the "evidence" is the now famous article from Seymour Hersh which relies on a single anonymous source
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seymour_Hersh]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seymour_Hersh

Nord Stream sabotage

Hersh's report relied on an anonymous source

The article was criticized by some of Hersh's peers.
Hersh's article was criticized by some journalists.[59] Eliot Higgins, the founder of investigative journalism group Bellingcat, said that Hersh was unable to get his article published in a reputed newspaper and that his reporting would only impress the likes of people who support Putin and al-Assad.[60] Bellingcat journalist Christo Grozev described Hersh's report as "total fiction" and stated that his reporting is seriously damaging to journalism.[59][60] ... Simon Pirani questioned the veracity of Hersh's report.[62]

It's a nice story worthy of a James Bond film, but "someone who I won't name told me about it" isn't very convincing that it reflects reality.

China urges for the END of Russia's invasion of Ukraine as it calls for a cease-fire and peace talks: Beijing releases 12-point plan to solve conflict on eve of the anniversary of Putin's war
  • China's foreign ministry said on Thursday: 'Conflict and war benefit no one'
  • The call for peace talks come on the eve of the Ukraine War's first anniversary
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called it an important first step

Members of Putin's inner circle are now spying for Ukraine, with more willing to turn as the situation in Russia worsens, Kyiv intelligence chief claims - as Zelensky insists his nation will 'prevail'
  • Kirill Budanov says Putin's closest are now defecting to the Ukrainian side
  • Zelensky affirms confidence in Ukraine winning the war on eve of one-year mark

What an innovative military strategy! Your country is invaded by the world's second-strongest military, so you then invade one of your neighbors just because.:ROFLMAO:
Maybe they want to expand to the West after they lost the East? ;)

Or warmongerer's motivation course?

Public opinionA poll in June 2018 found that 22% of Moldovans would vote in favour of joining NATO, while 43% would oppose.[23]Another poll in December 2018 found that, if given the choice in a referendum, 22% of Moldovans would vote in favor of joining NATO, while 32% would vote against it and 21% would be unsure.

What is China's REAL aim with its 'peace plan'? Western leaders say the communist nation lacks 'credibility' after siding with Putin and pour scorn on proposal that could benefit Beijing contractors and see Ukraine give up territory
  • China has claimed it wants to prevent Ukraine war from getting out of control
  • But its 'peace' proposal has been met with scepticism in the West and Ukraine

$113 BILLION on a war with no end in sight: DailyMail.com breaks down Biden's enormous military package for Ukraine on the first anniversary of Putin's invasion, the Republican audits, and what the taxpayers think
  • The staggering sum of U.S. aid to Ukraine is far greater than any other nation
  • $46.6 billion is in military assistance such as tanks, missiles and drones
  • American public is now starting to ask how long financial support will carry on

The staggering sum of U.S. aid to Ukraine is far greater than any other nation
It is much cheaper than financing Afghanistan or other US wars.
US taxpayers are used to pay for some kind of war.
Helping Ukraine makes much more sense than occupying Afghanistan.
They can finance a war, move their defence industry, improve their soft power without coffins coming back.
They neither need to invent stories about weapons of mass destrucion, genocides and democratization.

Amazing how selective TASS reporting is re China12 points proposal
  • Peace talks and ceasefire
  • Preventing nuclear war
  • Humanitarian crisis and prisoner of war exchange
  • Global economy and post-conflict reconstruction

What TASS avoided

1. Respecting the sovereignty of all countries.
  • Universally recognised international law,
  • including the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, must be strictly observed.
  • The sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all countries must be effectively upheld.
  • All countries, big or small, strong or weak, rich or poor, are equal members of the international community. All parties should jointly uphold the basic norms governing international relations and defend international fairness and justice.
  • Equal and uniform application of international law should be promoted, while double standards must be rejected.
2. Abandoning the Cold War mentality
3. Ceasing hostilities.

So the solution is simple

Looks like you didn't read TASS properly.
MSM blinded? ;)

"The document pointed out that the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all countries must be "effectively upheld". China also called for abandoning the Cold War mentality, opposing bloc confrontation, and taking into account the reasonable security interests and concerns of all countries. It is also stressed that the security of one country cannot be ensured at the expense of the security of other countries."
"In addition, China urged not to add fuel to the fire, not to allow further escalation and the crisis in Ukraine to spiral out of control, and to help create conditions for a complete cease-fire and cessation of hostilities."

edit:
The UN or Europe would better have published or initiated a resolution to hold the Minsk agreements, at least Minsk II, then there would never be a war.
The UN paper - as far as I read it - also had no solution for the Donbas region besides UNHCR was counting the causualities of the war in Donbas since 2014.
I also wonder why they did never procuce a resolution against the U.S. invasions in other countries.

Now that we are into the second year of the three-day special military operation, it's clear Putin needs a way out. Some have proposed running away like with

I think a more Russian-style exit plan would be something like

What TASS did was a gloss over of the unavoidable - a minor mention buried and lost against distracting headers. So in effect - the central issue avoided. Sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all countries is a Main Header - not a minor introductory preamble.
  • What you think the UN should do or not do may be interesting, enertaining etc., but is essentially irrelevant.
  • You have no vote or say on UN policy.
  • The member states of the UN are the only voices that have a vote and say.
  • 143 of 183 and 141 of 180 UN member states - 78.14% and 78.33% respectively - voted in favor of UN resolutions.
  • However you slice the cake griping on about the sins of the US - 78.14% and 78.33% respectively is overwhelmingly the world consensus and two wrongs do not make a right. That's just distraction tactics.
A small sample of DM (MSM) reporting compared to TASS paltry offering.

WHAT IS CHINA'S 12-POINT CEASE-FIRE PROPOSAL?

1. Respecting the sovereignty of all countries.
2. Abandoning the Cold War mentality.
3. Ceasing hostilities.
4. Resuming peace talks.
5. Resolving the humanitarian crisis
6. Protecting civilians and prisoners of war (POWs).
7. Keeping nuclear power plants safe.
8. Reducing strategic risks.
9. Facilitating grain exports.
10. Stopping unilateral sanctions.
11. Keeping industrial and supply chains stable.
12. Promoting post-conflict reconstruction.
