Trading like snakes and ladders?

Has anyone noticed that the kids game snakes and ladders has a huge resemblance to trading?

think about it the roll of a dice the ups and downs the probabilities of getting a snake or a ladder. Maybe trading is just a grown ups version of snakes and ladders?
