Trading Experience Required

Yup, DB = Deutsche. In terms of prop shop experience, yes and no, experience will count but not as much as you'd think. The way IB's trade is often very different from prop shops so most shops (until you're pretty experienced and making decent p/l) will operate intraday ie you have to be flat by the end of the day. Whilst at an IB, you're book may be flat at the end of the day but equally you may orientate your book directionally for days, weeks or months.

Agreed, it will likely be easier to get into a prop shop but please for your own sake, make sure you apply to any and every grad scheme. Your internship experience should stand you in good stead regardless of uni. Also, go to a lot of careers fairs so a) you get used to talking to recruiters and b) similar to networking, having links with grad recruiters at banks can obviously do no harm!

Good luck!!!! :)
