Top Market Sports - J.P. Evans

The rumors are true. We're backing UNLV -3.5 as our free play tonight and some Top Market team members will be at Sam Boyd Stadium to take in the game.

Perennial sharp darling BYU will be the opponent. In fact, most "wiseguys" around town are leaning towards taking the points in this one. But not us. The injury-decimated Cougars are guaranteed their first losing season since 2004 after last week's loss to Fresno.

The Rebels, on the other hand, are on a two game win streak and have their sights set on bowl eligibility. Tonight's game will be broadcast on ESPN2, and there's chatter that the boys are looking forward to this one, filled will some Friday Night Lights **** and vinegar.

Look for the UNLV ground game to be the story. Their running game is currently 13th in the entire country (you read that right) averaging 252 yards per game.

There's just so much going on...

All the major betting sports are now in action, including our favorite and most profitable...college hoops.

Good news!! We've managed to carve out a couple minutes this morning before the office opens up to feed you animals a free pick. It's Xavier +1 when they visit Wisco this evening.

Both teams are 2-0 after some cupcake games with tonight being the first real "test". The Badgers are probably overvalued here, with their only meaningful returning player from last year being center Ethan Happ. The Musketeers are loaded with experienced guys. The talented Trevon Bluiett and the scrappy J.P. Macura will lead the way. (Side Note: we f*cking love the effort Macura brings on a nightly basis. Watch him grind tonight.)

The public will obviously lean towards the brand-name Badgers (LIGHT BULB EMOJI!!!!) while disregarding this Xavier program that the masses still (mistakenly) treat as a mid-major.

One source says, "It's possible that the sheep push Wisky back to -2/2.5 this morning, so waiting to pull the trigger is not the worst proposition. We might book some moneyline over here if they get overexcited and a figure appears at the right price (+115 or better). Most of our models show X should be the hands-down favorite."

Wake up!

Today's free pick is in a game that most of the country doesn't care about. Remember, betting sports should be about making money...not having fun. If you don't start treating sports investing like a business, you're doomed to be a loser forever.

Lay the chalk with Florida -10.5 against UAB today.

Outside of Florida State, the Gators almost never lose non-conference games. In fact, it's been 15 years since they did (Georgia Southern in 2002). But will they cover the double digit point spread today? Our connections say "yes".

One of the boys in Singapore says, "The wannabe sharps are backing the Blazers. But money talks, and this line is what it is. Opened at 10.5 and has stayed there...if serious syndicate money wanted in, they would have gobbled this number up days ago. Instead, we're seeing 11's start to pop up this morning. Gators roll by 20+."

Take Boston College +3 and ML +130 in the Pinstripe Bowl. Their opponent will be Iowa and the game will be played at Yankee Stadium. While most folks chowed down on grandma's famous turnips, sharps were busy nibbling at the full field goal. This line is now 2.5 at most outlets so you'll have to shop around.

But it shouldn't matter, as we're forecasting BC to win the game outright (Recommendation: Put 60% of your wager on the points and 40% on the ML).

It'll be an old-fashioned, smash-mouth football game. Don't expect a lot of razzle dazzle and trick plays from either side. Kirk Ferentz is about as exciting as a bowl of oatmeal and Steve Addazio is notorious for being a no nonsense guy. Both teams will look to pound the ball on the ground.

Henry says, "Many ESPN-types are predicting an Iowa win. Love this! They're still clinging to when they hung 55 on the Buckeyes. At this point, that's a lifetime ago. It's an outlier that's skewing the perception of this matchup. Eagles big."

Fun Fact: Iowa is the only program in the nation to lose a bowl game in each of the last 4 seasons.

Today's free pick comes in the form of a golf matchup. The boys are just starting to tee off this morning at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Make a small move on Gary Woodland -120 over Kevin Chappell. This is simply a bet on who will have a lower score in Round 1. Their group tees off in the second wave, at 11:25 AM PST.

We prefer the steady hand of the veteran power-hitter here. Woodland's coming off a T12 in San Diego last week and his bomb-and-gouge playing style sets up perfectly for TPC venues. Chappell has become a trendy name in golf handicapping circles over the past 24 months. Fade his hype and cash in with Mr. Woodland this afternoon.

Cheers,

If you've been following our picks for awhile, you know two things:

1.) We prefer the inherent value that playing an underdog provides

2.) We almost NEVER recommend a really heavy favorite

Well, you can throw those guidelines out the window this morning because we're playing Cincinnati -18 tonight. We're doing this for a variety of reasons, some of which will be discussed below...and some of which will need to remain private. You don't want me to end up dismembered at the bottom of a dumpster behind a Thai restaurant in the east valley, do you??

The Bearcats will be at their home-away-from-home (BB&T Arena at NKU) to welcome in the UCONN Huskies. Most of the time with a spread this high, the rule of thumb is to either pass or take the points. But we've got reason to believe there's value in laying this gigantic number tonight.

Cincy has just been stripped of their top ten ranking, coming off of back-to-back losses. When your national ranking is a single digit, you're a public team by default...it's really that simple. But the Bearcats have disappointed the masses recently, losing outright as a favorite against both Houston and WSU.

Remember - the public is a degenerate and childish bunch with a short memory...so they love turning on a team at the first sign of choppy waters. You can bet your bottom dollar that they're lining up in droves this morning to ****hammer UCONN.

An offshore sportsbook manager who will go unnamed says, "It speaks volumes that the sharper books haven't come off the -18.5. But the 18 is readily available at almost every square outlet in the world. Cincy will probably cruise by 25++."

928 Angels EV big
901 Brewers +155 medium
905 Braves +120 small
