Talking of the Raj in India I had to admire a recent series of films on TV about the railways in the hills of India.
Built before the War the original trains are still running perfectly. Chugging up the steep inclines and managed by people dedicated to providing transport.
Hopefully the old steam trains won't be replaced. They are a great tourist attraction of a bygone age in equipment and civility.

Where is the evidence that it was. Witness testimony including nurses, police, coroner, and local farmers (500 of them approximately). The military even admitted themselves it was a crashed disk before changing their mind and representing a balloon that was rejected by witnesses as not being the material that seen. There is enough about this case to leave a question mark. It isn't clear cut.

ROSWELL (N.M.). July 8. (AP) --The army air forces here today announced a flying disc has been found on a ranch near Roswell and is in possession of the army. Lieutenant Warren Haught, public information officer of the Roswell Army AIr Field, announced the find had been made "sometime last week" and had been turned over to the air field through the cooperation of the sheriff's office.*

The whole flying saucer issue arose from a misquote or misunderstanding anyway, when that private pilot over the Cascades in the US NW reported seeing unidentified flying objects with a movement like saucers being skipped across water. He did not describe them as discs but since then, every UFO is circular like the lid of a dustbin........ which, coincidentally......

Come on Pat, a little research into the subject and the sheer volume of evidence and reputable witnesses leaves a lot to be questioned. There are about 200 billion stars in our galaxy and billions of galaxies, is it so hard to contemplate that it is mathematically improbable we are not the only intelligent life out there.
I am not disputing there is a lot of garbage and disinformation out there but there are nuggets that pose very interesting questions.
Have a watch when you have time (an ex Lockhead martin scientist - he unfortunately died). This is the same guy who in another video describes experiments he did on gravity including 2 rocks he dropped from a roof, one with powerful magnets in and the other not. The rock with the magnets in dropped slower than the other rock and this goes against the laws of gravity as we know it.

A whole group of perfectly ordinary sane people will swear on a stack of bibles they saw this guy climb the rope and disappear.
I think if aliens are clever enough to appear from planets light years away then they would probably hover over The White House before landing. With that technology they wouldn't be scared.

doubtful. Collectively there are millions of people around the world who have witnessed these and it goes back through the ages. Piles of declassified documents from governments and law enforcement. Some leaked footage and documents that should still be classed as secret. Buzz Aldrin even took and passed a lie detector test. There is just too much of it and too many people who could have major reputational damage in their careers including Paul Hellyer, who was the Canadian Minister of National Defence. There was 2 press conferences with witnesses declaring under oath with the first one having about 400 under oath (engineers, pilots, military personal in charge of pushing the trigger for nukes to be deployed) watch the video cbrads posted of it and decide for yourself.

Dont want to derail the current thread on UFOs and aliens, but FXX posted some stuff and ancient and lost technologies.
FXX: I am guessing you are familiar with Graham Hancocks work?
He believes there were flourishing advanced societies that were destroyed by a comet/asteroid impact causing worldwide flooding about 13000 years ago.
He makes the great point that if there was another worldwide cataclysm, our "advanced" societies have further to fall. But the "primitive" societies would most likely continue, as they are truly connected to their environment. They are aware of the plants around them, and their medicinal properties, etc.
We are so disconnected from the soil that feeds us, and the properties of plants and herbs, we would be hurt more than these "primitive " cultures.
Graham Hancock has a few good youtube presentations.
