When I start my computer a window is displayed headed Microsoft Internet Explorer 'Stack Overflow At Line 88'. I click 'ok' the window disappears and I proceed normally.

1 What does it mean?
2 How do I get rid of it?

Thank you

Thank you for your reply and the link. I have looked at the link but the information is somewhat technical plus I am very wary of deleting something I should not.

Unless you are running Windows 98 I would ignore that link.

Which operating system are you running.

Check what programs you have in your Startup in START/PROGRAMS/STARTUP section.

This error message will be a tough one to fix without looking at your PC and what apps are launching at startup.

I would guess it's some badly written freeware utility or software you have loaded.

Thank you for your reply.

I am using Windows 98. I have not knowingly loaded any new software for some time.
I will look in the Startup as you suggest

Okay, I'm lost now. Found this site because I have a:
'Stack overflow at line 88' popping up all the time on my new AOL dial-up.
Everything keeps crashing and the whole computer shuts down.
Then I got a:
'No more space ....... stack pages. Increase setting of
MinSPs in SYSTEM.INI
So where is that?!? Spent an in Settings trying to find it and never understood
anything it said. But the relevant words above did not come up.
Oh, I should say I am an artist and writer technophobe but am determined to make this
............ thing work. Any help offered will be vastly appreciated.
Thanks

you should try to reinstall the program? make sure you keep your windows updated because infected or vunerable computer is easily crash and unstable.

click Start --> All Programs --> Windows Update
just follow the instruction properly, normally updated windows is pretty stable and secure.

Thank you for your suggestion which I have tried on my windows 98 but it makes no difference.
The window still appears, I click 'ok', it goes and I then carry on.

Good thinking - I see your are an exponent of following the least line of resistance!

I don't think my aged (8yrs) computer could handle XP without much upgrading. I anticipate buying a new computer sometime this year.

Thanks for your suggestions but I do not expect to be invoiced for them.

I have just realised that the 'stack overflow' window has gone, I don't know why but it has.
