Software for building trading strategies

Have been tinkering with technical analysis and building trading strategies. Now reached a position where I need to buy some software.
At this stage I don't think i need real time/delayed data so eod is fine.
Which software? Toss up between Metastock and Tradestation. I like the look of tradestations 'easy language', the ability to link to Matlab optimisation etc.

Would appreciate some ideas and suggestions.

BTW I'm new here so hi and please excuse any breaches of protocol!

I have both metastock pro and tradestation 2ki and I haven't used either since using prorealtime, I can't put my finger on the why's or explain rationally but strategies are easier to see and formulate on the prorealtime platform and that goes for any IT-Finance charting imo.
