Wanted to start a thread on population. Do you think the world is overpopulated?

Since 1950, the world's population has more than doubled and continues to grow,
while agricultural land decreases through urban development. When will there be
a 'commodities crunch?'.

Now that the flawed 'borrow and spend' model is unravelling the strain is
showing on employment.

Government Answer: No! We need more younger people to support the elder people that each successive government have abandoned.

World: Yes! I can only nourish a certain amount of people with my resources and the rubbish generated by the present messes with my Eco system. :smart:

use robot/machine can solve the demand from masses. but economy/monetary systems need to keep intact so world war 3 wont happen.

gov can print any amount of money they want, but just need to keep people using it and gun em down for those who dont want to use money. lulz

It seems that Gaia's planning a cull in our numbers of about 90%, and not just to confound Malthus!?

If you follow the link to the interactive map of the planet from New Scientist magazines website you'll find that they're suggesting that UK should "survive" the worse of the affects of climate change - although, you should brace yourselves if you think it's getting a bit crowded in this part of the world already, because it's going to be standing room by the end of the century. But, then that'll only happen if the gulf stream holds up!
