Paranoid About IG Index!

Hi all,

I use IGIndex to trade currency pairs, but I cannot help but be paranoid about the possibility of their prices changing depending on, and in response to my trades!

I have no reason to believe this other than irrational paranoia (!), and so can somebody put my mind at rest and confrm that ALL members of IGIndex see the same prices at the same time regardless of their trading activity!?

They normally quote GBP and EUR spot on the igindex home page, but if are still paranoid about them changing the home page just for you, then check out other websites on the web. For example capital spreads quote five pairs real time on their home page.


What you do need to be is paranoid about is them running your stops.
If the interbank market nearly reaches your stop level but does not touch it, all these dodgy bucket shops are known to trigger stops nearby anyway, especially in fast markets.

With someone like IG they probably have lots of trades running each way and by moving the price against you would be giving others an additional profit.

If you check their T&C's you will see that they are contractually obligated to quote the same prices to all clients.

Would the hassle involved in checking then triggering every clients stop really be worth the extra $5 they'd make on these trades?

Don't think it'd cover the lawsuit if that was ever proved

Also i'd imagine most positions are offset in the futures market with a 0.7 spread in the s&p but only 0.25 in the underlying market it's probably worth just taking those 0.15s over and over
