See attached chart of an intra spread (sweet light crude June 2013) (sweet light crude June 2012).

Daily line chart over the last couple of months.

Just a little bit of an uptrend then.

Am I missing something or is this a no brainer of a long trade?

discuss.

Since when are calender spreads no-brainers ? Especially oil spreads are very volatile - good to trade mean reversal in the short term, but holding it long term? Please let me know your thinking...

Thx

I am trading outrights at present but just wanted to provoke some discussion on spread trading. What spreads do you trade?

The only thing I know about no-brainer trades is that I wasn't using mine when I traded one.

I trade Brent WTI Spread. Quick movements of $1 within a couple of minutes here sometimes. Quite good to trade. I don't trade calendar spreads.
