HOLY **** it's awesome. The level 2 is a bit dazzling and not as immediately intuitive as xtrader, but charting is better than CQG, and the analytics etc all in one place is very very nice.

Nice synchro, I have just installed ninjatrader
Took me few minutes to find out how to load any chart, but it is ok now.

hmmm... steady on, it has its drawbacks. And you can't compare Ninja with XTrader like you can't cmpare apples and oranges.

CQG admit doesn't really have much on it - except - the treatment of spreads. Ninja will always be a retail product until they sort out their spreads.

Yeah, I know autospreader, it's pretty bad, better to do it all in excel with autotrader. I don't really know what you mean by retail platform either I guess, you can get TT as a "retail trader".

I just wasn't sure what you meant by the statement, that's all.

When installing, message "check our facebook fan page" or youtube channel made me also think that this is "retail- type" of platform, whatever this means
It is not for every purposes and style of trading I guess, but why not compare it to X_trader or CQG when one just trade some outright future contract.
I don't know what about those things regarding connectivity, latency and other issues not known to me, if those other things are OK, it is a direct competitor in this field of "simple" trading.

I like NinjaTrader...

There's never going to be one platform that's got 100% of what you want but I do like Ninja.

The instrument manager was a bit of a pain at first but apart from that I have no real complaints.

Probably the best feature is the underlying architecture which means it can easily be extended. So - if it doesn't do something you want, you can write it.

I have considered putting together an autospreader for Ninja but I really don't understand spread trading enough to put something together...

ninja trader doesnt allow trading spreads such as (sell march oil/ buy april oil) in one atomic transaction. It also had problems in instrument manager. continuously defining new contracts as time goes by (when old contract expires) becomes a pain. Most professionals prefer this spread type trading and I believe it is also mandatory for any1 who cannot afford to buy multiple contracts.

also x_trader's autospreader is not requiered for trading spreads. With autospreader, you can define custom spreads such as 4 schatz versus 5 euribor (european ted spread) and make bids/offers on this spread. "normal" x_trader allows trading exchange traded spreads

Can someone tell me how to get rid of those confirmations on the chart and turn it off ?
And BTW turn off confirmations when puting an order ? Thanks.

Right Click the chart -> Data Series -> Trades Section

Set "Plot Executions" to DoNotPlot

I miss volume on each level (like in cqg) but the good thing is the ladder centers automatically on market price.
If font is changed for bigger in DOM and you have a working order on a given level you might not see full DOM value (was 234 instead of 2345), just a detail

Any chance to take price data into ASCII or excel ? Like in MT4 ?

Custom timeframes ?

Can someone tell what is the difference between Ninja Lite and Ninja Pro ?
Details are not necessary, just want to know whether it is something with automated strategies disabled/enabled or something else. There's no such labels as 'Lite' or 'Pro' in the application I'm using, neither was such description when I was downloading it from Mirus website. The one is free the second one is $180/quarterly. I don't know which one I'm using.

with "pro" edition you have automated strategies, OCO and bracket orders.
i.e you can send stop loss and profit taking orders when entering the position(order send order).
if one of the "exit"orders are executed, other one is cancelled (order cancels order)

So I assume the only difference is that I'd have to manually set up SL and TP and can't use some automated systems. The rest is quite the same.

You can trade live with the 'pro' license. The free one is really for testing it out with market replay and other things.

I like ninjatrader too, but it does have some problems. Quite a few times I delete an order on the ladder and it turns orange and remains there. Mostly it's really been deleted but once it didn't. Also there are freezes, and disconnects (at least for me).
