Nigel Farage

Nigel comes across as a genuine chap and represents the views of the majority of the nation.

I worry that UKIP is a bit of a 1 man band with only 1 major policy. If he were to fall, is there a competent number 2 to take his place ?

Another worry is, can Britain survive outside the EU, even if it is horribly corrupt and incompetent ? The world is a tough trading place.

An alternative view perhaps, and illustrative of a prevailing mood in parts of Europe ?

When the cake is getting smaller - socialist left political parties do better in a more equal and equitable distribution of what there is based on need.

When deserts are getting larger - capitalist based right parties do better in the allocation of rewards to deserving parties with more efficiency and equitable distribution subject to contributions made and not on simply a system of "equality" which can become inequitable in it self.

Equality has a flaw in the free rider issue. How does one discern contritubion of effort?

It takes politicians to make the case for us as people in a crowd often lose site of reality and mob behaviour takes over. Call it a seasonal fad perhaps. :whistling

Remember when one wage would support a mortgage and buy food for a working (skilled man -bricklayer etc)

Yes we can survive. Dan Hannan explains it perfectly here.
